I have been homeschooled from kindergarten through twelfth grade. I graduated at 14 and started my business degree. Math is my favorite subject.

Ackeret, Micah Ezekiel

I have been homeschooled from kindergarten through twelfth grade. This summer I’m headed to Texas for an electrician apprenticeship.

Akers, Chloe Elisabeth

I have been homeschooled my whole life and completed my associate degree in general studies through dual enrollment at Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC). I attended ACTS (Albemarle Christian Teaching Support) co-op in Charlottesville for five years. During my senior year, I played varsity volleyball. My interests and service include volunteer photography, music, and reading. My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 61:2-4, a word of peace and comfort.

Alvey, Anthony Richard

I have been homeschooled from second grade through twelfth grade. I enjoyed playing competitive soccer from kindergarten through tenth grade, and I also enjoy playing basketball and working out. I was accepted to Regent University to pursue God’s calling in Christian ministries, and I was awarded the Regent University homeschool scholarship. During my junior and senior years, I served on two mission trips to St. John’s, Newfoundland, and I’m currently preparing for an internship at my local church, where I am an active member serving as part of a student leadership team. My favorite Bible verse is Joshua 1:9.

Anderson, Lillian Marie

Lillian Anderson has been homeschooled since kindergarten, cultivating a deep love for theater and history. She participated in 27 theatrical productions and completed 4 years of voice lessons, developing both her performance and vocal skills. Lillian also pursued academic excellence through dual enrollment with Colorado Christian University, earning 25 college credits. She has been awarded the Moose Family Scholarship of Excellence for her achievements in theater. Lily has been accepted to Regent University, where she plans to major in history and pursue a career as a living history interpreter at Colonial Williamsburg.

Balduf, Sarah Ashley

I began my homeschool journey in sixth grade. During my homeschool years, I have grown in perseverance, independence, and faith, embracing opportunities to learn and build meaningful relationships. I have participated in Young Life Capernaum for three years, where I find joy in my friendships and in encouraging others. My life verse, Zephaniah 3:17, says: “The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing” (ESV). After graduation, I plan to take a gap year and then attend Longwood LIFE at Longwood University. I am thankful for my homeschool journey and look forward with excitement to what God has planned for my future.

Ball, Steven James

Aside from third and fourth grade being spent at a private Christian school, I have been homeschooled for K–12. My junior and senior year, I was dual enrolled at both Bob Jones University and Brightpoint Community College, earning 24 credit hours. I have been blessed to experience memories—making moments like traveling overseas to Paraguay and taking a pararescue and survival training course through Civil Air Patrol in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I enjoy playing the piano and guitar, gardening, and playing soccer. I plan to pursue my interests in political science after graduation, wherever the Lord leads me. A favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (NIV).

Barnes, Lauren Alayna

I began homeschooling in sixth grade when COVID began, and over the years I’ve developed a wide range of creative interests. During my freshman and sophomore years, I took French I and II at Albemarle High School, as well as an interior design course through the local community college. Outside of academics, I’ve enjoyed taking a pottery class, where I learned the basics of throwing and shaping clay. I’m especially passionate about travel and recently returned from a trip to Iceland. In the future, I hope to continue exploring the world and learning about different cultures. A saying that inspires me: “You can’t add days to your life, but you can add life to your days.”

Barton‑Rivera, Angel S.

I have been homeschooled since the second grade. Through homeschooling, I have pursued strong interests in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects—particularly robotics—and participated in the Virginia Space Coast Scholars (VSCS) program. I have also taken classes through Compass Homeschool Enrichment. I enjoy playing guitar and writing my own original music, which I share on my YouTube channel, Rivener. I have participated in organized athletics, including swim team and baseball. After graduation, I plan to attend a university and hope to become a large‑animal anesthesiologist.

Beahr, Leah Marie

Leah was homeschooled throughout her education, and she enjoyed the flexibility it offered to shape her studies around her interests. Over the years, she earned her black belt in tae kwon do, worked on a microfarm, developed her creativity through a variety of artistic pursuits—including theater, painting, artisan baking, ballroom dancing, and floral design—and attended Regent University online. She plans to attend college while working and hopes to find an apprenticeship. She is excited to see what the Lord has in store for her future as she explores the opportunities ahead. Her favorite Bible passage is Romans 8:37–39.

Beard, Parker Liam

Parker is graduating from high school and has been homeschooled since kindergarten. He will be staying in the Richmond area for work. He enjoys carpentry, reading, cooking, and the outdoors. He earned the Royal Ranger Trail of the Saber award and is a Gold Medal Achievement recipient. He thanks his family and close friends for helping him be who he is today. “Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city” (Proverbs 16:32 NIV).

Beck, Landen Dakota

I have been homeschooled from eighth grade through twelfth. My goal for after graduation is to get a job doing something I love. I’m interested in being a conservation officer or a chef. I love to fish and hunt, especially trout fishing. When not doing that, I play Call of Duty (COD) on PlayStation (PS5).

Becker, Kyllee Christene

Kyllee C. Becker was born in Gresham, Oregon. She grew up in Oregon, Washington, California, and Virginia in a Navy family. Kyllee has been homeschooled since kindergarten. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, volunteering at church, singing on the worship team, playing guitar, painting, and baking. She plans to travel this summer. A favorite Bible passage is 2 Corinthians 12:9–10.

Beckman, Zackary Ryan

I have been homeschooled from seventh through twelfth grade after moving from Maryland to Virginia. It’s been life‑changing. My goal is to see the United States and visit the West Coast via van a few years after graduation. A saying that amuses me: “If at first you don’t succeed… destroy everything” (said somebody, somewhere).

Beloat, William Conner

William has been homeschooled since kindergarten. During his time in school, he has demonstrated perseverance and determination. These characteristics have served him well as he has learned how to rebuild and work on small engines and powersport vehicles. William spends much of his time riding dirt bikes and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) as well as fishing. After graduation, he plans to become an entrepreneur in the powersports industry, continuing to work with engines and building his mechanical knowledge. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6–7 ESV).

Beltran, Logan Anthony

I have been homeschooled from third grade through twelfth grade. My special interests include playing computer games and working on my computer. My favorite Bible verses lately have been Jeremiah 17:7–8, “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit” (NIV), and Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (NIV).

Bennett, Kevin Michael

Kevin Bennett is an 18‑year‑old from Stafford, Virginia, who has interests in gaming, building, and motorcycles. He has previously been involved with the Colonial Forge High School Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (ROTC) program and competed on the cross‑country team. Kevin recently completed his second year as a homeschool student and obtained his final credits to become a high school graduate. Kevin plans to continue working part time and intends to enroll in an auto mechanics program in the future.

Bentley, Christian Jonathan

Christian Bentley is a dedicated entrepreneur, published author, and accomplished student graduating with a 3.92 GPA. Homeschooled since fourth grade, he has balanced traditional high school academics with online college courses while running Bentley Bird Houses for four years. He creates and sells unique handcrafted edible birdhouses and wildlife feeders through online sales, nationally ranked craft events, wholesale accounts, and four local stores. Christian is the published author of The Adventures of Dante the Service Dog, available on Amazon. An avid golfer, he competes in Virginia tournaments and volunteers his time and products at senior homes, camps, and programs for adults with disabilities, teaching workshops.

Beyer, Lucas S.

Lucas began his homeschooling journey in the sixth grade. He enjoys acting and has participated in 19 productions. When not on stage, he enjoys singing; playing sports; and tabletop, card, and video games. After graduation, he will serve for two years as a full‑time missionary.

Beyer, Mary Anne Grace

Homeschooling has given me the freedom to pursue what I am passionate about. Throughout my childhood, I developed a love for ballet. Being homeschooled has allowed me to fully invest in ballet and continue beyond high school. I also enjoy crocheting, baking, and learning about holistic health. As a teacher at my local dance studio, I have been able to learn how to teach all ages about the art of dance. I look forward to continuing to teach, explore health, and train with Virginia National Ballet this fall. One of my favorite Bible passages is Numbers 6:24–26.

Bingley, Jailon Nicholas

I have been homeschooled since age 3, developing a disciplined academic foundation and strong independent learning skills. Throughout my education, I engaged in service within senior care communities and most recently at the Perkinson Center for the Arts and Education, where I served as a greeter. These experiences shaped my respect for service, leadership, and growth. In 2017, I received a public speaking award that strengthened my confidence. I have also gained practical experience working in maintenance and painting with my grandfather, and operating a yard business. I plan to pursue entrepreneurship in technology while training and competing in fencing.

Block, Leah Belle

I am the oldest of four and have been homeschooled since age 5. In addition to school, I love spending time with friends and running varsity cross‑country, playing varsity soccer, volunteering, learning ballroom dancing, playing piano, and (my favorite) horseback riding. I received the coach’s choice award in varsity cross country for leading through encouragement. I was dual enrolled at Virginia Peninsula Community College (VPCC) and am praying about pursuing a degree in business or law. A favorite verse is Psalm 9:10, “They that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee” (KJV).

Bowers, Annabelle Ruth

Annabelle has been homeschooled from the start of her education years, in three states as well as overseas. She played six years as a lacrosse goalie, was a member of the Texas Homeschool Coalition’s teen staff for four years (two as a gold shirt leader), attended Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and actively serves her church. She is most proud of earning her American Heritage Girls’ Stars and Stripes Award, AHG’s highest honor and pinnacle achievement. Annabelle is taking a gap year as she waits for what God has planned next for her.

Bowers, Charity Faith

I was adopted from China when I was 4 years old, and I’ve been homeschooled since the second grade. I love photography and video editing and hope to start my own business in that field. I have been volunteering in leadership roles at my church since I was in middle school, and I recently went on my first mission trip to Puerto Rico. I currently work as a preschool assistant and will be taking a gap year before starting my college education in the field of business administration. My favorite verse is Isaiah 43:1b, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine” (LSB).

Bowers, Miridia Angeline Lardie

Miridia Angeline Lardie Bowers is a servant of Jesus Christ. Since surrendering her life at age 8, Miridia has carried the hope of the Gospel to peers and elementary‑aged children through evangelistic work in Maine, North Carolina, Navajo, Lynchburg, Madison, and Orange. Miridia has exemplified excellence as a student (co‑ops and Christian Leadership College), athlete (soccer, basketball, wrestling, cheer, dance, volleyball—earning captain honors and the Victory Volleyball Leadership Award), and church/community volunteerism. This summer, Miridia plans to exercise her extensive faith‑based training as a full‑time missionary at Camp Shenandoah Springs, trusting the Lord to make this a lasting ministry alongside her family.

Bradshaw, Kamryn C.

Kamryn has experienced a unique and enriching education. She completed her senior year as a dual‑enrolled student at Brightpoint Community College. She enjoys art, animation, and working with young children. Gentle and kind‑hearted, Kamryn embraces life like a butterfly—growing, transforming, and ready to spread her wings as she begins her next chapter.

Brewster, Makenzie Grace

I began homeschooling in tenth grade, a decision that shaped my independence and work ethic. I have been a cheerleader since I was 9 years old, learning teamwork, discipline, and leadership. Being homeschooled taught me the importance of self‑motivation, adaptability, and resilience. It also gave me the freedom to grow at my own pace while building responsibility and confidence. I plan to attend nursing school with the goal of becoming a labor and delivery nurse. I look forward to new opportunities, continued growth, and pursuing my goals with determination, passion, and purpose as I step into the next chapter ahead.

Brinson, Alaina Reese

Homeschooled since kindergarten with enrichment through co‑ops and unique opportunities, Alaina was a cheerleader for 13 years, building self‑discipline, perseverance, and a strong work ethic. Her interests include all‑star cheer, going to the gym, concerts, reading, spending time with friends, relaxing at the beach, and being at the racetrack. Alaina enjoyed volunteering every summer for vacation Bible school and beginning her third year working as an assistant gymnastics coach. She is planning a gap year to work and focus on achieving the highest competitive level in all‑star cheer and continuing with her love of sports content creation. Alaina’s favorite verse is Philippians 4:13.

Buckley, Charlotte James

I was homeschooled from kindergarten through twelfth grade. During my senior year of high school, I was dual enrolled at a community college, where I earned 9 college credits. I also participated in a Christian leadership and government organization called TeenPact for all of high school. My special interests include music and playing instruments, leading worship, playing volleyball, and spending time with friends and family. I plan to follow and serve the Lord wherever He leads me. My favorite verses are John 19:30 and Psalm 63:3.

Burge, Kyra Caydence

Kyra Burge was homeschooled for grades 1–3 and again for grades 11–12, enriching her education through co‑ops and real‑world experiences. A creative spirit, she enjoys throwing clay, sewing, crocheting, painting, drawing, and exploring music. Kyra is active in her youth ministry at Capital Baptist and works at Hobby Lobby, where her dedication and creativity shine. This fall, she plans to attend Liberty University to pursue her bachelor’s, master’s, and eventually her doctorate degree in psychology. Her favorite Bible passage is Proverbs 3:5–6, which continues to guide her path forward.

Caballero, Grace Marie

I have been homeschooled from second through twelfth grade. Outside of school, I have participated in theater groups and dance. Swimming and competing have been a passion. I’m looking forward to getting my degree in radiology technology. I enjoy getting to know God more each day in His Word.”Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! Caballero, Sarah Jordan

I have been homeschooled since the second grade. I enjoy all types of crafts and skating. Involvements outside of school include theater group and dance. Each summer I’ve been a part of our neighborhood swim team. With my family, I’ve traveled to the Philippines and Japan to visit with missionaries. I hope to get my associate degree in the medical field. “Let all that you do be done in love” 1 Corinthians 16:14 (ESV).

Canady, Lily Canaan

Lily has been homeschooled from kindergarten through twelfth grade. She started taking dual‑enrollment classes in her junior year. She is currently enrolled at Martin Community College in the equine business program and has completed her first year in the program. She is hoping to complete her degree in the spring of 2027. She is an accomplished rider and has competed in many shows while earning high awards. She enjoys playing guitar, hunting, boating, and being with friends. Her favorite verse is Colossians 3:13.

Carr, Nathaniel Lee

Homeschooled from the start, Nathaniel is known for his adventurous spirit and courteous, friendly nature, making friends everywhere he goes. He possesses a quiet, contemplative wisdom and deep concern for others. Active in scouting for as long as he can remember, he was inducted into the Order of the Arrow, the honor society of Scouting America, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 15, developing strong leadership skills and earning numerous conservation awards. He has remained active in sports (particularly soccer) and service to his church and community since the age of 4. Also an avid swimmer, he has worked as a Red Cross‑certified lifeguard since 2023. True to his nature, he is still carefully discerning his next steps. ”Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it” Proverbs 4:23 (NIV).

Carroll, Peyton Grace

I have been homeschooled since seventh grade, and for the last four years I have attended a co‑op. During my senior year, I completed dual enrollment through Rappahannock Community College, where I aspire to continue my education to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN). I love spending time with family and friends at church, lunch, or camping. I have a strong devotion to my faith; currently my favorite verse is Philippians 4:13, ”I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (KJV).

Christensen, Maxten Brent

Max has been homeschooled since sixth grade, developing both independence and a love of learning. Throughout his school years, he has actively participated in his church youth group, helping plan and lead activities that have strengthened his leadership and service skills. He also participated in forest schools, learning outdoor and survival skills. He enjoys playing guitar, exploring the outdoors, and fishing—passions that reflect his curiosity, creativity, and appreciation for the world around him. After graduation, he will serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints, followed by attendance at Brigham Young University (BYU) Idaho.

Church, Justus Elijah

My mom has faithfully homeschooled me and my eight siblings our entire lives. When I graduate, I plan to apply to be a firefighter and get married. Currently, I work doing lawn care and have been blessed to become my boss’s right‑hand man. It is my hope to be able to continue working in lawn care in addition to being a firefighter. It means a lot to me that my parents wanted to have a big family and teach us in a godly home. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for everything!

Clark, Elijah Faine

I have been homeschooled since kindergarten. During my senior year of high school, I studied entrepreneurship and marketing in the Ascend Program of Unbound, as well as interning with my father’s coaching business. My hobbies include playing guitar, Brazilian jiu‑jitsu, and dirt bike riding. After graduation, I hope to re‑enroll with Unbound, further my career with my dad’s business, and run social media accounts for local businesses. My favorite Scripture is Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (ESV).

Clarke, Dillion Lee

Dillion is an ambitious young man who has been homeschooled since kindergarten. He is a cadet in Civil Air Patrol and achieved the rank of technical sergeant. He has co-piloted a plane and a glider. He plans to attend a police academy and major in political science, in hopes of becoming a defense attorney. Dillion is also a guitarist, and he aspires to make a hobby out of music and maybe even become a guitar teacher in his free time.

Clarke, Madison Leah

Madison is a thoughtful and creative individual who has been homeschooled from kindergarten through twelfth grade. She has a passion for music. During her time in high school, she enjoyed playing piano. Madison stands out for her ability to stay true to herself and positively impact those around her. After graduation, she plans to major in early childhood education and is committed to a career working with and supporting children.

Cofer, Emma Wrenn

I have been homeschooled since preschool. I enjoy horseback riding and fishing, and I enjoy taking care of others. I will be attending Riverside’s College of Health Sciences certified nursing assistant (CNA) program in August, with hopes of pursuing a nursing career.

Colinborough, Sinai Moses

I am Sinai, and I have been homeschooled my whole life. During my junior and senior year, I was dual enrolled at Brightpoint Community College and was taking classes at the Chesterfield Technical Center. I have also participated in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) at a national level, visiting Anaheim, California, for the semifinals. Some of my interests include writing, rock climbing, and programming. I also have a passion for gardening and cooking. I hope to be able to pursue my career in information technology (IT) after going to college and achieving a master’s degree in cybersecurity.

Copeland, Darrees Miracle

Darrees Copeland has grown into a resilient, vibrant young woman full of potential. Adopted at age 4, she has faced challenges with strength, adaptability, and determination. Known for her smile and quick wit, Darrees brings joy wherever she goes. She graduates with a 3.6 GPA and a history of trying new things, including internships, volunteering, dance, and creative arts. She explored languages and stayed committed to growth through four years of book club. With a love for animals and an interest in cosmetology, her future is wide open, and she is well prepared for what comes next.

Corcoran, Samuel Ryan

Sam has been homeschooled since kindergarten. He ran with the James River Eagles cross country team for six years and has been a faithful member of the audio‑visual team at Immanuel Baptist Church. He has earned his third‑degree black belt at Martial Arts World Chesterfield, where he works in the after‑school program. His greatest accomplishment has been his positive influence on his young martial arts students. He will be attending Brightpoint Community College in the fall.

Costa, Amelia Jean

I’m thankful to have been homeschooled my whole life. It’s afforded me a vast education with lots of experiences and opportunities. I’ve been able to pursue hobbies and extracurriculars and be close to my family daily. I’ve enjoyed homeschooling alongside my two little brothers and helping around our farm. I enjoy drawing, crafting, and cooking. I’m excited for what the future holds and pray for God’s guidance in my life.

Covington, Mary Ashley

Ashley has been homeschooled from kindergarten through twelfth grade. She dual enrolled at Regent University during her senior year, studying mathematics and English, and taking a research class specializing in J.R.R. Tolkien. Raised with a love for ancients and classics, she plans to pursue that academic field at Liberty University with a B.A. in theology and apologetics and minors in philosophy and biblical Greek. She hopes to inspire others to maintain the values and teachings of ancient cultures and literature through her studies and research.

David, Gabrielle Jessica-Ruth

I am a native of Virginia, homeschooled since the age of 5. My homeschooling journey covers a wide spectrum, from conventional academics to working with my hands, including exploring sea creatures, owning a business training and walking dogs, animal rescue, crocheting, carpentry, car maintenance, culinary arts, and writing. I’ve performed solos in local and national choirs. I’ve participated in the Upward Sports program on basketball and volleyball teams. I participated in the Civil Air Patrol and acquired the rank of Senior Airman shortly after enrollment. I’ve built and launched a rocket, received the Warrior Cadet Award, and was given the opportunity to train and pilot a Cessna 172 single‑prop airplane. College? Yes—just not conventionally. Letting God show me His way.

DeFazio, Joseph Paul

Joe was homeschooled K–12. He enjoyed performing in Talents FXBG’s Homeschool Theater Arts and competing for the Madison Marksman 4‑H team. Participating in various basketball and baseball teams was also a lot of fun during his high school years. He plans to attend Piedmont Virginia Community College to study business administration.

Denson, Breanna Leigh

I have been homeschooled from fifth grade through twelfth grade. I have been a competitive gymnast for the past 11 years, training up to 26 hours per week, and have traveled all over the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico for meets. In addition to gymnastics, my special interests include playing guitar and theater. I am an active member of my church, having served as a youth delegate for the past two years to the Virginia Annual United Methodist Conference. I also volunteer as part of the tech team, running the PowerPoint presentation for the weekly worship service. I will be attending Presbyterian College on an academic and athletic scholarship to compete for their Division I acrobatics and tumbling team. I have also been selected as a Korea Scholar and will be spending the summer of ’27 studying in Korea.

Dickens, Madilynn Marie

I have been homeschooled from seventh through twelfth grade, with a focus on history and creative design. At age 13, I began volunteering at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, where I now work as a costumed army encampment interpreter, engaging guests through hands-on demonstrations and historical presentations. I also enjoy acting and modeling, interior design, Hapkido, and designing and sewing both historical and modern costumes. I love creating, storytelling, and working with my hands. After graduation, I plan to attend trade school to pursue a career as a museum exhibits designer while continuing my work as a historical interpreter.

Diehl, Isaac Samuel

Isaac Diehl is a dedicated student‑athlete graduating from high school with a strong commitment to both academics and personal growth. Alongside his studies, he has trained extensively in Brazilian jiu‑jitsu, developing discipline, resilience, and competitive excellence. Isaac has tested himself on the international stage, earning medals in high‑level competition—an achievement that reflects his work ethic and determination. Known for his focus and problem‑solving skills, he brings the same intensity to everything he pursues. After graduation, Isaac plans to enter the nursing field, where he hopes to combine his compassion and drive to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

Doudna, Elliott Andrew

I was in public school from kindergarten through the fourth grade and then homeschooled through my senior year of high school. In my senior year, I was dual enrolled and have completed 15 credits so far. I am an active member in my church and help with sound and production. In my free time, I enjoy astronomy and running. I have been taught, and have tried to live by, doing things with integrity and being true to who God made me and the plans He has for me. I hope that in my future, I will have purpose in all I do, and that God is proud of my choices. I want to look back on my life and know I heard God’s voice of leading, and know I did my best for Him. My favorite verses are Isaiah 40:28–31 and Psalm 73:24–26.

Edman, Lucy Jeanne

I have homeschooled from kindergarten through twelfth grade. This year I went on a mission trip to Oslo, Norway, where we hosted Thanksgiving at local churches. My sister and I have run our business, Oh Crumbs, for the past two years. We sell custom cakes, cupcakes, and cookies for special events. I enjoy baking, crocheting, and working out. I plan to take some business classes to grow my business. I have enjoyed homeschooling since kindergarten. My special interests include Lego® building and animation. I also love ushering at my church, playing the saxophone, and volunteer coaching for i9 Sports® youth basketball. Nicholas Ewing is a cadet major in the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) with over 400 volunteer hours. He held various leadership roles, including cadet deputy of support, where he managed support teams for training programs with over 100 participants, and legislative intern, where he coordinated CAP engagement with Virginia legislators. He maintains a 4.3 GPA as a dual‑enrolled Liberty University student and is a third‑degree black belt and state‑level AAU tae kwon do medalist. Additionally, he rows crew and plays piano and alto saxophone. Nicholas is pursuing a degree in industrial engineering and a career in either entrepreneurship or the intelligence field.

Fisher, Bethany Joy

Bethany is a graduating senior who is grateful for God’s guidance throughout her high school journey. She enjoys reading, drawing, volunteering at her church, and spending time with friends, and she plans to pursue a career in physical therapy. She will be attending Riverside College of Health Sciences. I am the third of six children, all of whom have been homeschooled from birth. My favorite extracurricular interests are singing in the Shenandoah Valley Children’s Choir and skiing, not only in Virginia but also in Idaho and Canada. In the future, I plan to pursue a career in either welding or agriculture. Most of all, I want to follow Jesus and fulfill His plan for my life.

I have lived in Bumpass and been homeschooled my whole life. I enjoy singing and have been glad to be a part of the music team at church. When I was about 10 years old, I started working out at the gym. By 12 years old, I was pretty serious about weightlifting. I compete in a few powerlifting meets every year, and I have a national and world record for my age and weight class. My future plans include attending cosmetology school. But for now, as I am finishing my schoolwork, I am working as a nanny and helping in the nursery at church.

I have been homeschooled since kindergarten. I was active in Scouting America as a boy scout until I aged out as a first class rank in 2025. I am currently active in Venture Crew, which is a part of Scouting America for older scouts. Of my many hobbies, I specifically enjoy metalworking and plan to attend welding school in the fall.

M’Khai Jett Fonseca Ford of Sandston, Virginia, has been homeschooled for six years, developing a strong work ethic, a servant’s heart, and a deep love for family. He participated in soccer and track, was inducted into the National Honor Society, and served as a youth volunteer with Speaking Spirit Ministries and the Richmond Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). M’Khai would welcome the opportunity to compete on the U.S. track team at the LA28 Olympic Games. He plans to apprentice in welding this summer, then attend Brightpoint Community College to pursue studies in data center technology and electrical, preparing for a career in critical infrastructure and skilled trades. I have been homeschooled since preschool. I have homeschooled in Florida, California, Chile, Panamá, Italy, and Virginia. During these many moves, I have participated in Boy Scouts, church youth group, tae kwon do, and jiu‑jitsu. I enjoy community service, gaming, and writing fiction. In 2024, I was named teen of the month at the Naples Support Site Teen Center in Naples, Italy. I am a 16‑year‑old graduate. I have been homeschooling my entire life. (I say “my entire life” and not K–12 because, in my opinion, learning and teaching start before traditional academics). I plan to earn an animation degree at Regent University and then obtain a midwifery certificate to open a natural birthing center. I might be the only animating midwife, but that’s okay. I was saved and baptized in 2017. My goal since I entered high school is to read through the Bible at least once a year. I’ve been homeschooled since kindergarten. I work in plumbing and electrical and plan on attending Virginia Technical Institute (VTI) in the fall to further my career. I enjoy playing board games, spending time outdoors, and lifting weights. I serve in my dad’s church by running the sound board and streaming services. I am part of the men’s boiler room prayer group. My goal is to serve the Lord by using my gifts to honor Him and serve others.

I have been homeschooled from second grade through twelfth grade. During my high school years, I have volunteered at my church for vacation Bible school (VBS) every year, taken a welding course, and participated in Youth Evangelism Conference (YEC) and Mission Fuge (MFUGE) events. I have been homeschooled from kindergarten through twelfth grade. From my freshman to senior year of high school, I have been a part of a local FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics team (Team 4634, The FROGbots). After one season of being on the team, I was elected team captain for my remaining time on the team. Through this, I have had the wonderful ability to lead others and to create awesome robots. I have been homeschooling from kindergarten through twelfth grade. I like to spend my time hanging out with friends and family, listening to music, or watching a good movie. I attended my first Home Educators Association of Virginia (HEAV) convention when I was 2. Hiking and exploring this country that God has given us has always been part of my education. I have had the experience of traveling around the United States competing with archery and shotgun, winning medals and trophies along the way. My favorite was won here at Holiday Lake in Virginia in 2024, presented by Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) in the Hunter’s Education Challenge, taking home first place in the senior shotgun. Philippians 2:4 and Psalm 23:1 are verses that I relate to and that travel with me daily.

Evelyn Noelle is the fourth and final student to successfully graduate from Long Meadow High School. Some of the many passions that she has pursued include piano, art, gymnastics, soccer, all things French, being active in her church, and playing piano in the church youth praise team. Mia is an organized and well‑rounded student. She is graduating with a 3.6 GPA. She accomplished this while also working, dancing, and coaching youth track. One fateful day, after a tired kindergartener was picked up from public school, he asked his mom if there was such a thing as doing school from home. That one question sparked a life‑changing journey, from starting out with fun activities with my mom to going to Christian Home Educator’s Science & Sports Institute (CHESSIE) from grades 1–6 and Albemarle Christian Teaching Support (ACTS) from grades 5–12. I have so much love and gratitude for all the people at ACTS who have supported me. And I’ll never forget my CHESSIE roots that gave me a love for homeschooling, and I will be forever thankful to my mom for starting this amazing adventure with me.

Having been homeschooled since first grade, my favorite thing is the flexibility it affords! It allowed me to travel the world and enjoy every experience along the way. I began my homeschool journey during COVID. I have been dedicated to my studies and have learned independence, dedication, and perseverance. I played in many sports through my academic years before choosing to focus solely on my music. I performed many live events throughout Virginia Beach and Fredericksburg as a lead vocalist and drummer. I plan to obtain my massage therapy license and further my music career, with hopes to eventually work as a musician on the big stage.

I have attended various institutions but have been homeschooled for the past year. Throughout my four years of high school, I have done everything from leadership programs to dual-enrollment courses. My high school experience has been marked by active participation in volleyball, theater, debate club, and podcasting. Interests like baking and thrifting occupy my spare time when I’m not road tripping with friends and family. I will be attending George Mason University as a neuroscience major. Daniel has always had an active imagination and an abundance of curiosity. He is interested in science and technology, especially biomechanics, but can also be found playing chess and having philosophical or theological debates with siblings and friends. He advocates for others who don’t always have a voice and speaks up when he sees injustice. He is a worthy friend and a loyal brother. His travels across the U.S. and to other countries—including Malta, Israel, and Egypt—have given him rich cultural experiences and a greater understanding of international perspectives. As he plans for the future, he is excited for new adventures, starting with a summer internship in auto mechanics.

Apple Joy has an amazing heart for God. Solid in her walk with Christ, she will be a light to her classmates. Apple was accepted to the biology program at Virginia Military Institute (VMI) and the water polo team. Apple has a heart for animals and plans to take her career into wildlife biology and conservation. She is a good steward of the earth, a friend to everyone. Her talents also lie in being a very talented swimmer in the 757, a master crocheter, a lifeguard at the local recreation center, and a four‑year docent at the Virginia Beach Aquarium. Apple is very involved in her youth ministry at Trinity Church at the oceanfront. We could not be more proud of her as a family. I have been homeschooled my entire life, with a great focus on learning my Catholic faith. I’ve lived around the world with my military family; Japan was my favorite. I like drawing, reading, spending time with my family, and I love praying the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. I volunteer to sing the national anthem for military promotions, award ceremonies, and retirements. I am a member of our Sunday church choir and a co‑director of the youth choir at our church. I’m 19 years old and have always been homeschooled. I am a devout Catholic and love learning everything about my faith and apologetics. I have been homeschooled since first grade. After moving from New York to Virginia in 2020, I began attending Albemarle Christian Teaching Support (ACTS) co‑op in Charlottesville. During my senior year, I also took dual‑enrollment classes at our local community college. I enjoy creating art, playing guitar, working out, and serving in a leadership role within my youth group. This fall, I will attend Liberty University to major in elementary education. “But as for me, God’s presence is my good. Machen, Ruth Gabrielle

I’m so grateful to Mom and Dad for their sacrifice homeschooling me all my life. Becoming very close with my siblings was the best! I love serving at my church in music and children’s ministry, and my favorite title is being an auntie! My aspirations are singing, acting, dancing, event coordinating, serving my country through politics, and above all, glorifying God through everything (Psalm 27:4). Trynyty Martin is a remarkable young woman whose discipline and determination have set her apart. Graduating from high school at just 14, she has demonstrated both academic excellence and an unwavering commitment to her goals. Passionate about her faith in Jesus Christ, she strives to live out Romans 8:18 daily. Trynyty also shares a love for powerlifting, often training alongside her father, building both strength and character. Known for being smart, funny, goofy, and kind‑hearted, she leaves a lasting impression on everyone she meets. Martyn, Eunice Josie

My parents, Daniel and Maris Martyn, raised me in church and taught me to love God, and I accepted Jesus as my Savior at 5 years old. My family and I are members of Freedom Baptist Church. I have been homeschooled a total of six years and did three semesters of dual enrollment at Tidewater Community College. My interests include music, reading, and playing cozy games with my friends. Music has always been a big part of my life, with choir and lessons for piano, flute, and violin. My favorite Scripture passage is Psalm 23. I have been homeschooled from kindergarten through twelfth grade, and during my senior year, I began taking college courses at Regent University. I have always been homeschooled, giving me the opportunity to travel across the Americas and Europe, visiting many beautiful, historical places. My college plans include fashion design, welding, and historical architecture, focusing on restoring historic buildings. Besides my passion for fashion, I have danced ballet en pointe and lyrical for eight years, played violin since age 2, and trained wild horses. I enjoy riding horseback in All‑American western style, outdoor skating, musical theater, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings. My favorite thing is to always be uniquely me, and unpredictable; thus, like Bilbo Baggins, I’m going on an adventure!

Maybee, Luke Darren

Luke Maybee has been homeschooled from kindergarten through high school, inspired by Home Educators of Virginia (HEAV). He served as a chief master sergeant in the Civil Air Patrol and played keyboards for his church youth worship band. Luke received scholarships to The Heritage Foundation High School Fellowship and the National Youth Leadership School. He participated in a mission trip to Morocco and tested at an advanced level in Romanian language proficiency. He plans to attend Liberty University, majoring in government. I have been homeschooled from preschool to twelfth grade. I have participated in two mission trips during the summers of 2025 and 2024, both to Tanzania. I enjoy doing hair and nails, and I plan to begin cosmetology school in September of this year. 1 Corinthians 1:28 is my favorite Bible verse.

I have been homeschooled from kindergarten through twelfth grade. My interests include art, scouting, and church activities. I joined Scouting America in 2018 and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. I am also very active in my church, where I volunteer and participate in many events. I have enjoyed volleyball, softball, roller hockey, and swim team throughout high school, and I am currently completing dual enrollment at J. Sergeant Reynolds. I am a cadet in Civil Air Patrol and have worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor at the YMCA. I plan to attend Liberty University to study aeronautics and pursue becoming a pilot. Braylen Miller is an accomplished home‑educated senior graduating with honors. He enjoys reading historical fiction, competing in trading card games (TCG) tournaments, and playing first base for the Blue Ridge Jays, where his claim to fame is hitting the first grand slam in organizational history. Braylen serves the Lord as an advocate for vulnerable children through the Power Pack program at Providence Bible Church. Additionally, his life verse, Philippians 2:1–11, inspires him as a devoted big brother to over ten children in foster care. This fall, he will attend Geneva College to pursue a degree in air traffic control, becoming a fourth‑generation controller.

I have been homeschooled since the beginning and all the way through high school. I participate in competition trap shooting, Tukong (MMA) self‑defense, and advanced/exhibition ballroom dancing. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, swimming, camping, farming, physical fitness, and spending time with my family. I’m still praying about and looking forward to whatever God has next. I’ve spent my whole life in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Northern Virginia, and as the song goes, “Country roads, take me home.” I’ve spent the past eight years in Trail Life USA, an organization focused on teaching young men about the Lord through outdoor adventures. I am deeply interested in medieval and military history and hope one day to serve the Lord in that field as a college professor. I also have an interest in various other hobbies, such as writing, music production, and politics.

Miller, Quinn Allen

I was homeschooled from third through fifth grade and ninth through twelfth grade. A few of my interests include sports and working out at the gym. I have enjoyed playing soccer throughout most of my high school years. I had the privilege to join a mission team to Albania this past summer and work at a camp. Throughout high school, I’ve had a few jobs: MooThru for the last three years, and, most recently, an apprenticeship at M&M Signs and Graphics. I would like to pursue a trade—specifically heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) or electrical—and eventually hope to own a company offering those services. Sierra has been homeschooled from pre-K through twelfth grade. In addition to her core learning, she serves at church on the audiovisual (AV) team, running livestream production and cameras. She is gifted by the Lord with exceptional videography and photography skills, which she plans to continue to pursue after graduation. In high school, Sierra has participated in swimming, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and track. She is also a missionary with Teen Missions International (TMI), serving six weeks in Uganda in summer 2025. Following graduation, she will lead a team to a remote area of Australia. She is also a team trainer at Chick‑fil‑A and is affectionately known as our “sunshiney girl”– she shines the joy of the Lord wherever she goes. Her life verse is Romans 8:11.

Mitchell, Eleazar Lamar

Eleazar Mitchell began homeschooling in ninth grade, focusing on academics, life skills, and biblical studies. He gained vocational experience through DARS and Peers RVA, working at Walgreens, a theater, and Giant. His favorite role involved videography and special effects in a green room. Every Sunday, Eleazar serves his church as a greeter, welcoming everyone with his signature warm smile. Outside of school, he dreams of traveling to Tokyo to explore its culture. Modrall, Faith Ellen

I have been homeschooled by my mother from kindergarten through twelfth grade alongside my three older sisters. After seeing all my mother and father have done for others, as well as supporting my sisters through their illnesses and hardships, I have realized that I want to be someone whom others can rely on. I plan to start by earning my associate degree in health science at Brightpoint Community College while I am still fully learning who I want to become. Aidan Montefusco is a resident of Chester, Virginia, and is looking forward to graduation. Moore, Hannah Faith

I was born in sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but spent twelve and a half years growing up on Okinawa, where I began homeschooling in kindergarten. Surrounded by coral reefs, cherry blossoms, and island cats, I developed three deep passions: the Japanese language, animals (especially cats), and art history. I recently completed my third year of Japanese. After graduation, I plan to advance my Japanese skills while exploring a major in Asian studies, an art history degree, an English degree, or becoming a veterinary technician. Whatever path I choose, I am determined to keep progressing in Japanese, carrying the calm perspective and wide‑eyed wonder from my island upbringing.

My name is Nhu J. Moore. I live in Hampton, Virginia. I’ve been homeschooled all my life. My favorite subjects are English and history. Homeschooling from eighth through twelfth grade transformed me into a lifelong learner, allowing me to explore everything from the precision of archery to the storytelling of superhero movies and gaming. These years emphasized the importance of following my interests while prioritizing quality time with my family. I am proud to have completed Home Depot’s Path to Pro heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) training, and I look forward to gaining field experience before eventually launching my own business. I have always been homeschooled, and I am very thankful for that. I’ve enjoyed expanding my academics with Lifehouse Christian Co‑op, Unbound, and the Allegheny Mountain String Project. I’ve been homeschooled since kindergarten and have loved the opportunity it gave me to explore my interests and grow. Music and performing have always been a big part of my life. I enjoy playing several instruments and have had the chance to be in a number of plays over the years, most recently Pride and Prejudice. Being on stage is something I truly enjoy, and after graduation I hope to continue pursuing acting and opportunities in the performing arts.

Though I have been a homeschooled student for eight years, I previously navigated various school systems in different countries as a military child, gaining a unique perspective on many of the communities I was involved in. My family and I have gone on wilderness trips to learn about plants and animals; we also went on multiple historical trips to learn about Virginia’s history. I enjoy playing and creating music. I have been homeschooled my entire academic life. Over the years, I have participated in various co‑curricular and extracurricular activities: sports, acting, musical instruments, and American Heritage Girls (AHG). I earned the AHG Abigail Adams Award, the highest Patriot level award. I am also active in church by serving in different positions of leadership and volunteering. Jenna Louise Hope-Petty of Front Royal, Virginia, has been homeschooled since 2021, beginning in seventh grade. Her education is defined by hands-on learning and a commitment to agricultural and animal sciences. Jenna works at a horse training facility and built her own chicken coop to raise laying hens. An accomplished equestrian, she trains horses, competes regularly, and has experience training dogs. Her greatest achievement is launching her own small business. Following graduation, Jenna will study veterinary technology, pursuing her passion for animal care with the goal of becoming a certified equine veterinary technician.

Phounsavath, Elle Nahlon

Elle Nahlon Phounsavath, daughter of Elavanh and Sarah Phounsavath, graduates after homeschooling for ten years. She has been very active in the Girl Scouts of America. She succeeded in the Girl Scout Trifecta of earning her Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. She also earned her Silver and Gold Torch Awards and set up and executed a week‑long camp for local scouts. Elle enjoys the arts—painting, drawing, sculpture, and ceramics. She also studied piano and voice. Her newest interest is travel. She has made several trips to Florida, New York, California, Massachusetts, and Japan. Shanghai and Hong Kong are goals for 2027. Elle is actively researching liberal arts colleges in Virginia. She plans to major in arts and business, with the hope of opening her own pottery studio in the future.

Plaugher, Amanda Michele

Amanda Michele Plaugher has been homeschooled from kindergarten through twelfth grade and has participated in a variety of extracurriculars, including homeschool fitness, youth groups, and more. She has been a Girl Scout for 13 years and has completed her Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards, in addition to being selected as a delegate for her council’s girl board of members. Amanda spends her free time swing dancing and volunteering at her local dog rescue. She has played on both recreational and travel lacrosse teams and is now committed to play Division II lacrosse at Shorter University in Rome, Georgia, as a defenseman.

I’ve been homeschooled all my life by my mom, and I am thankful I had the opportunity to do so. I love Jesus, reading, art, and music, and I love spending time with my family. Becca loves art and animals—particularly her two cats, whom she loves dearly. She enjoys all mediums of art but especially loves acrylic and watercolor painting. She is heavily inspired by nature, animals, and Oregon, where she used to live. She is hoping to one day make a career out of her art, but for now is working as an assistant dog groomer. Becca would like to go to art school and travel around the country and visit as many national parks as she can. Andrew lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, with his mother and younger brother. He started homeschooling in eighth grade. Andrew holds a second‑degree black belt and is currently working on his third‑degree belt. Andrew joined Boy Scouts of America as a third grader and recently earned his Eagle Scout rank. I also have a passion for forensic science, which I plan to pursue further as I start college this fall at West Virginia University, where I will major in forensic examination.

I have been home-educated my whole life. The curriculums I preferred allowed for hands-on exploration and real‑world experience. This facilitated an enjoyment of the outdoors. My future plans are quite simple: obtain certification for leading outdoor activities in a recreational capacity, then find a post that allows me to guide patrons through the Blue Ridge. My short‑term goals are to complete authoring a novel and to participate in the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) wilderness semester, where I will be certified as a wilderness first responder after backpacking for three months in the backcountry of Wyoming.

My name is Tessie, and I am the eighth of 13 children. It has been a joy to be homeschooled since kindergarten. I am so thankful to my parents for pouring into my life. They have passionately taught me to love God and strive to serve Him in all I do. Our family is in full‑time ministry, and I have enjoyed doing music with my family. I play the piano and clarinet. I have been homeschooled from kindergarten through twelfth grade and was dual enrolled at VPCC, where I earned 35 college credits. Bukiyyah Salaam is a graduating student from All Things Possible Homeschool. She has been homeschooled since the third grade, all the way through high school. Her special interests include singing and hairstyling. Bukiyyah was raised in the Lord and has gained great knowledge of His Word. She has participated in entrepreneurship, business management, and cosmetology courses. I began homeschooling in the eighth grade. I have a love of learning, especially history and anatomy, and I am graduating with honors. I have traveled this last semester of high school as the Life Action Ministries worship team drummer. My name is Alexander Smith. I’m a 17‑year‑old from Gloucester, Virginia, which is located in the Middle Peninsula of the Hampton Roads metropolitan area. I’m a graduate of Penn Foster, which I began attending in the sixth grade. Olivia has been homeschooled since 2015 and has served as a volunteer teacher with Impact Girls, working with pre‑K through second‑grade students since 2020. She is a swim and dive instructor, lifeguard, and active participant at Burkwood Swim and Racquet Club. Rebbekah Thomas has been homeschooled K–12. She is the second oldest of four homeschooled siblings. Her favorite homeschooling pastime is reading poems. She has danced extensively in several genres with Etudes Ballet School and summer programs with Académie de Ballet. Her accomplishments include main roles in singing, dancing, and acting in musical theater with the Court House Players (Golde in Fiddler on the Roof and Baroness Bomburst in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang). My favorite memories around homeschooling would be traveling to different parts of the country visiting museums, state and national parks, historical places, and the unique adventures Dad would find. Dad traveled for work, and that opened up opportunities to see things I might not have been able to. I spend my free time drawing, painting, knitting and crocheting, shooting competitive archery, and taking care of my chickens. I also love to bake and try new recipes. Baruc’s name means “blessed from above.” He was born in February of 2008 in the city of Fairfax, Virginia. He is the youngest of three brothers. His father is from Bolivia and his mother is from Puerto Rico. He recently became an uncle with the birth of his nephew and niece. He has had a knack for performance since he was young, due to singing in church and participating in drama club as well. When he turned 15, he started participating in Christian‑themed movies with JC Film Studios. He has worked with several high‑profile actors and plenty of smaller ones, too. He is bilingual and has traveled to several countries in the past as well.

Hayley was homeschooled for two years, is a member of Kids for Christ Co‑Op, and is graduating from Shepherd’s Way Academy. Hayley has spent high school completing Early Childhood Development I and II, obtaining her cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification, and focusing on the study of agriculture. After high school, Hayley plans to continue her education and career in agriculture and business, as she has accepted a full‑time position at Aaron’s Creek, where she will provide service to customers across the country. Kevin has enjoyed advanced placement (AP) classes, dual‑enrollment courses, speech and debate tournaments, track and field meets, and soccer games throughout high school. Homeschooling gave him something even more valuable: the environment to express creativity on his own terms. Vaughan Walker has been homeschooled her entire school career, which provided her the flexibility to pursue lots of other interests. She got into acting and modeling at a young age, she studied piano and voice for over four years, and she discovered a love for horseback riding. She has participated in riding competitions for over twelve years, starting with English jumping and now progressing to barrel races. She has long cherished a dream of becoming a firefighter, so at age 13 she began attending Junior Fire Academy every summer and later volunteering with the Smithfield Fire Department. I have been homeschooled all my life and grew up on a farm out in the country. I loved growing up with all our different animals, and I am thankful for all the things I learned from a young age because of living on a farm.
