HEAV Convention Children's Program Knights of God

Join HEAV this year for another exciting and
interactive Children’s Program!

HEAV’s 2018 Children’s Program, “Knights of God,” is perfect for children ages 5 through 12. In this year’s program, your children will learn about the armor of God and how it can strengthen us in spiritual and physical ways. They will be encouraged to do what is right even when times get hard. They will also participate in games, crafts, singing, and Bible memory activities.

Children’s Program FAQ

We enlist of the help of many volunteers and team leaders to engage the children with many fun, enjoyable group activities. Each child is assigned to a team leader and one or two assistants who together are responsible for a group of up to 21 children who will remain together throughout their stay in the Children’s Program. They will at times join other groups for fast-paced transitions to organized games, singing, and crafts.

Yes! Many of our volunteers come back year after year to serve in the Children’s Program, and all of our volunteers under the age of 18 provide a reference that is carefully reviewed. Each volunteer is interviewed personally, and all volunteers aged 18 and over undergo a background check.

Yes, all children in a family are placed in the same group at the convention unless the parents specifically request that they be placed in separate groups.

We make every effort to accommodate special placement requests. Please send requests to childrensprogram@heav.org by May 26, 2018.

Only parents are permitted to enter the program room to drop off and pick up children. If you and your spouse have a scheduling conflict due to another convention event, special arrangements may be made for another authorized adult to pick up your child. Arrangements must be made onsite with the Children’s Program coordinator. Under no circumstances will a minor be permitted to pick up children from the program.

No food is served or allowed to be eaten in the Children’s Program. If your child must eat during program hours, you may remove him from the program room as needed to get food.

If your child has a severe allergy, please make arrangements for his care in writing with the Children’s Program coordinator.

We welcome all children! Unfortunately, we do not have the volunteer staff to care for a child who requires personal care, and our staff members are prohibited from entering the bathroom with any child. A nurse is located in the Children’s Program at all times and a paramedic is available at the Richmond Center. If you have a child with special needs or health concerns who is registered in the Children’s Program, please e-mail specialbuddies@heav.org for information on our Special Buddies Program.
