by Megan Bittner

With cold and flu season upon us, now is the perfect time to incorporate some soap science into your homeschool. Check out this Homeschool Living for some good clean fun experiments, plus tips and tricks for keeping your house healthy and happy.

Healthy Hands

You can use pepper and dish soap for this simple but effective demonstration on the reaction of soap to water.

These hand washing experiments from Earthkids.com and Science Buddies are great for younger elementary ages and older middle schoolers, respectively. (You will need some specific materials for the experiment from Science Buddies, but materials cost is less than $20.) For the Science Buddies experiment, use the tabs under the title to navigate through the experiment.
