Virginia Creeper Trail

Virginia Creeper Trail is in Abingdon, Virginia and can be a wonderful outdoor homeschool field trip. This is a walking trail and bike path on an old, narrow-gauge railway. Much of it is shaded and there is a gentle downhill grade so you can coast most of the way. It is very picturesque as you ride across trestles, over streams, and through the Jefferson National Forest. It is 33.4 miles long, but you can choose to do just a section of it. You may rent bikes and arrange for a shuttle to pick you up at your ending point. Virginia Creeper Trail Bike Shop or Virginia Creeper Trail. You will not be disappointed putting this field trip your homeschool activity planner!
