NEW! Get Your TrailBlazer Pass and Win Prizes

So Many New Surprises Await at This Year’s Convention!

There’s something extra special about this year’s Virginia Homeschool Convention—so many exciting new events are on the horizon!

We’re especially looking forward to the Friday night concert with the Petersen Family Band—what a treat! Add to that a stellar lineup of knowledgeable speakers, encouraging keynote sessions, and—my favorite part—the attendees. It always feels like one big family at the convention. I treasure those passing conversations in the hallways and the quiet moments waiting for a session to begin. That’s where I often find the most invaluable nuggets of wisdom—the kind that remind me I’m not alone on this journey.

But let’s talk about the Exhibit Hall.

This is where the action happens! You’ll meet exhibitors from across the country, each with something meaningful to offer—from innovative curriculum to interactive experiences. In the past, my family has purchased curriculum, sampled an online guitar lesson before signing up for our boys, and even discovered an all-natural laundry detergent—created through a homeschool project that blossomed into a successful business!

If it’s connected to homeschooling, you’ll find the best of it here.

One of our favorite parts? Supporting young entrepreneurs who have poured their hearts into handcrafted items and small businesses. This year, you can also explore the Musical Petting Zoo and thrilling robotics demonstrations.

And just when you thought the Exhibit Hall couldn’t get any better—this year, it does!

Introducing the Trailblazer Program

New for 2025, the Trailblazer Program rewards you for exploring the Exhibit Hall! When you pick up your registration packet, you’ll find a Trailblazer card inside. As you visit designated booths, exhibitors will initial your card after sharing about their products or programs. Once you’ve filled your card with all the required initials, you can enter it into a drawing for one of three Trailblazer gift baskets—each packed with exciting prizes valued at up to $700!

  1. Visit the booths.
  2. Collect the initials.
  3. Turn it in at the HEAV Tables or Information Desk.
  4. Winners will be drawn on Saturday at noon!

You don’t need to be present to win, but winners must pick up the prize at the convention on Saturday afternoon or arrange to collect it at the HEAV office by June 30.

You’ll recognize some Trailblazer participants like Museum of the Bible, Brave Books, Notgrass History, Kumon Math & Reading, and many more. For a complete list of exhibitors—and to plan your weekend—check out the HEAV Convention app. You’ll find schedules, speakers, maps, and more at your fingertips.
