Library Access

Q. Are homeschoolers allowed to use public school libraries?

A. I am not aware of laws that allow or prohibit the use of public school libraries; however, local school policy may prohibit it. Because of safety and security issues, the general public is not allowed to have free access to a school campus including school buildings. The local school board or local school personnel would have the authority to make policies regarding access. A phone call to your local school would provide specific information regarding library access.
