Homeschooling with Dyslexia: It’s a Gift!

Did your child have a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad (homeschooling) day… again? If you have a child who struggles with schoolwork, reading, and/or concentration, you have probably had more than a few of these challenging days. Whether your child is dyslexic, has attention issues, or is just a late bloomer, homeschooling moms often feel like they are either not doing enough or not doing things the right way. Dyslexia is not a deficiency; it is a gift (even though it may not feel like it at times). Kids with dyslexia learn differently, so they need to be taught differently. In this session, I share the struggles, challenges, triumphs, and miracles I experienced while homeschooling my dyslexic child, as well as teaching strategies that can be used with your own struggling student.

Homeschool Hindsight: What NOT to Do When Homeschooling

Instead of telling you what you should do while homeschooling, I spend this session sharing what NOT to do. If given the opportunity, I would sit down with my younger (and more idealistic) self and give her some much-needed sage advice! As a retired homeschooling mom, I have learned some heartwarming and heartbreaking lessons. In this session, I share five important lessons I have learned after 20+ years of homeschooling. I candidly share my “epic fails” and what I learned along the way. I share advice and hindsight that I wish I had known before starting my homeschooling journey. I also share the ten things I do not regret doing.

Just Breathe & Simplify Your Homeschooling

Just breathe… Regain your sanity, reclaim your schedule, and reignite your love for homeschooling. Whether you are a new homeschooler or an overwhelmed home educator, you can homeschool simply and enjoyably. In this session, I share eight simple strategies to help parents apply the “less is more” principle. Learn how to remove the chaos and simplify your life, your home, and your homeschooling, while focusing on what is truly important and creating lasting memories.
