Through the efforts of your HEAV School Board Monitor Team, we learned that homeschool parents’ notices of intent were being sent to the school board for approval. The homeschool law assigns the responsibility of processing homeschool notices of intent to the superintendent’s office, not the school board. Because of the team’s efforts, HEAV was able to communicate this important point and work with the district to align its processes with the homeschool law.
