Scholarships Coordinator
Do you love helping homeschool students find opportunities for their future? HEAV is seeking a scholarship coordinator to manage and grow our online list of college scholarships for homeschoolers!

Purpose of position:
- Find, review, and coordinate college scholarship opportunities available to homeschooled students.
- Help answer inquiries and connect Virginia homeschool families to college scholarship opportunities. These inquiries may come in via phone calls or emails to the HEAV office or through the HEAV Facebook page.
- Keep an up-to-date database of scholarship opportunities with their open and due dates.
- To work with scholarship providers to open opportunities to homeschooled students.
Scholarships Coordinator reports to:
Director of Leadership Support
Relates closely with:
- Director of Leadership Support
- Office Manager
- Director of Outreach
Required skills, strengths, and abilities:

- Initiative and the ability to accomplish projects with minimal supervision

Hours required: three to five hours per week, depending on project needs and season
The Scholarships Coordinator named above will work with the Director of Leadership Support. He or she will build and lead a team to implement the various tasks needed to accurately and efficiently receive and relay information to publications for the website. The team will share HEAV’s vision, mission, and values so they can work together effectively to meet HEAV’s high standards.
The Scholarships Coordinator will attend regularly scheduled team meetings and complete the Ministry Institute’s video training. He or she will model a culture of discipleship by training and mentoring team members and instituting the core values of HEAV.
The Scholarships Coordinator is responsible for the following:
- Maintain accurate listings
- Obtaining information to list available scholarships on the
- HEAV website Scholarship Information
- answer homeschooler’s questions on how to find and apply for scholarships
- Review applications and required paperwork
- Encourage scholarship providers to remove any barriers to a homeschooled applicant
Goals and Ideas (not limited to) for the Scholarships Coordinator position.
- Write an annual column in the HEAV magazine to promote and raise awareness of scholarship opportunities for homeschoolers.
- Build relationships with scholarship providers and connect them with events like the convention.
- Host a college scholarship seminar at the convention.
