What Gifted Kids Really Need
We may hope our kids are really smart, but what happens when they are? It’s intimidating homeschooling a kid who’s racing ahead and seems to need more. Can you really meet his needs or would he be better off with professionals? How can you help her fit in socially? Should he graduate early or not? Hal & Melanie both went through gifted programs in school and now, having raised precocious children of their own, they have the insider’s perspective about the academic, social, and spiritual needs of talented kids. Learn how to teach, parent, and enjoy your bright kids!
Christianity, Patriotism, and Liberty

Of course, our first allegiance is to Christ and His Kingdom—yet Scripture also calls us to seek the peace and good of the place where God has planted us. Learn how to pass on the principles of liberty, give your children worthy heroes, and inspire them with the stories of history without whitewashing the hard bits. Help your family love and appreciate their country and influence their culture for good!
No Longer Little
The turmoil of the tween/preteen years usually catches parents by surprise. Diligent students become addled and distracted. Kids raised in church start questioning the existence of God. Sweet children seem to climb on an emotional rollercoaster—and then invite you to join them. Don’t get a ticket for that ride! This very funny and all-too-real workshop will help you resist the temptation to lose your temper and will show how you can shepherd your children through the challenging 9–13 years. Navigate this confusing time and lay a foundation to make the teen years great!
Middle School Madness
When our oldest was 8, we thought we were pretty great homeschool parents. Then he hit 9 or 10 and the wheels fell off his educational train! Another child did pretty well until he was 11, then all-of-a-sudden he couldn’t focus at all or remember things he’d learned last week. Others didn’t struggle until 12 or 13, but struggle they did! There seems to be something that makes middle school just plain hard, for nearly
everyone. How do you live through it? Is it possible to make the middle school years great? Get real hope!
