There are LOTS of fun, exciting things to do in Richmond. Find out about shopping, dining, museums, and events–all within a short distance of the convention center– at the HEAV page on VisitRichmondVa.org. Make this year’s convention a getaway for the whole family!

Article of the Week

True Joy – Karen DeBeus

This 2014 convention speaker reminds us of the simple truth that, “joy is not something to be sought after. It is actually the product of a life fully surrendered to God.” She goes on to share some of the challenges her family has faced and the Bible truths that helped her triumph over them–with a joyful heart! Check out Karen’s 2014 convention workshops here.

Homeschool Q&A

Jobs for Teens

Q. Where can a 14-year-old homeschooler find a summer job? Most places will hire teens that are ages 16 and older, but not a teen who needs a work permit.

4) Parting Thought – Spring and Green Things

Having gotten busy enough that time was often very short, your editor had adopted the shortcut of buying bagged, prepared salad. One day, our youngest came home about dinner time, breathless and excited.

“Mom! John-John’s mom knows how to MAKE salad–and she said she’ll share the recipe with you!”

Yup, it’s true.

5) Worth Repeating  Nancy Pearcey

“Every course in a Christian school should be an opportunity to show that a biblical perspective does a better job than any secular theory of accounting for the facts in that field, whether psychology, biology, government, or business. Apologetics should be naturally woven in to all our discourse.”

Nancy Pearcey (1952-present), professor, speaker, author, and Christian apologist. Read a recent interview with her from Defend Magazine, an apologetics e-magazine.
