We still need volunteers to help out in the Used Curriculum Sale and at Registration. Volunteer today!

Calling Homeschool Moms!

Do you have a blog…or are you interested in starting one? There will be an informal bloggers meet-up at the convention Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the concession area. Stop by and meet the HEAV bloggers, get information and inspiration!

Box Tops for EducationBring Your Box Top Labels to the Convention!

Although tiny, Box Top labels can support homeschooling in a BIG way! So…before you toss that next food box or can, check to see if it has a Box Top label. Then collect the labels, trim them neatly, rubber band them in sets of 50, put them in a zip-lock bag along with a completed form, and bring them with you to turn in at the convention! (If you can’t bag them, please bring them anyway–we’ll take all the Box Tops you can bring!)

Follow Us on Facebook!

Make sure you’re getting ALL of the posts: hold your arrow over the “Liked” button at the top of our HEAV page. Hover there until a drop down box appears (sometimes takes a few seconds) and make sure there is a check beside “Show in Newsfeed.” We don’t want you to miss any great opportunities, comments, or resources!

How to Make Your Own R&R Day – Ann Voskamp

Although originally titled “A Perfect DIY Mother’s Day… (or ‘How to Make Your Own R&R Day’),” we’re running this now as we look toward a summer break for many–and an “after-convention” break for quite a few. Perhaps homeschool moms–and other hard-working moms–can carve out a day to take a break. Some suggestions to make just the right relaxing day for you include going for walk, turning on the music, praying, lighting a scented candle, and many others. Most items have some elaboration to provide even more ideas. God bless moms!

5) Worth Repeating

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

– Sometimes attributed to Mark Twain, but more likely should be attributed to H. Jackson Brown, Jr., American writer and author of Life’s Little Instruction Book. See the Quote Investigator website for a discussion of the quote’s origins and how one goes about authenticating a quote.
