4) Parting Thought – Give Your Homeschool a Lift

Of course, one does not NEED a school name to homeschool with legitimacy, but creating one can add interest and a sense of identity. Having a school name to give when queried can also give a child a touch more confidence, especially when he is not entirely sure of his answer in sometimes-still-skeptical world. Some families have long discussions and hold family votes over the final choice, but some parents decide on their own–especially if there are only small children in the home. School names can be derived from a family name or come from famous Christians or other public figures. No matter if you are “officially” named or not, if you are directed of the Lord to undertake a home education, you are “real enough” and can proceed with your head held high!

5) Worth Repeating

“When we in darkness walk,

   Nor feel the heavenly flame,

Then it is time to trust our God,

   And rest upon His name.”

– A. M. Toplady (1740-1778), an Anglican cleric and hymn writer. Augustus Montague Toplady, who may be best known for “Rock of Ages,” wrote a great many classic hymns. See a brief biography, his hymns, and more on

6) Verse of the Week

“For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.”
