A Light for Today and for the Coming Year

At this time of the year when the days are at their shortest, we can celebrate that “God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ”

(2 Cor. 4:6). May His light fill your home this Christmas season.

Focusing on Being Vs. Doing

Your children feel your stress! We can so easily focus on cooking, cleaning, and, yes, schooling, that we lose sight of the people we are cooking, cleaning, and schooling for. Kyndra Steinmann shares a solution in this week’s blog post.

4) Parting Thought – A Gift Idea for That Special Person

According to the “Christmas Price Index” for 2013 the total value of the gifts in the song “The Twelve Days of Christmas” comes to the hefty sum of $27,393.18. However, the “True Cost of Christmas,” which counts each item as many times as it is listed in the song (i.e. 12 partridges and 12 pear trees, 22 turtle doves, etc.), sets the 2013 value considerably higher–$114,651.18. Shows how special that “true love” is!
