HEAV SPEAKERS & WORKSHOPS

Homeschooling High School:
What’s Really Important?

Afraid to begin? Ready to give up? You are not alone. Taking responsibility for our child’s high school education can seem daunting, but take heart–it is do-able and can yield incredible benefits. Come and be encouraged as you gain insight into what’s truly important (it’s not what you think), learn some “secrets” of success, and discover some pitfalls to avoid–all from a mom who successfully homeschooled her own eight from preschool through high school.

Anne Miller and her husband, Jeff, decided to homeschool in 1980. Seven of their eight always-homeschooled children are now married and have become entrepreneurs, teachers, NASA rocket scientists, business owners, builders, and engineers. Anne, passionate about equipping and encouraging homeschool families, is president and executive director of the Home Educators Association of Virginia (HEAV) and has served for more than 30 years. Anne served on the advisory council for the National Alliance of Christian Home Education Leadership and has spoken at the national HSLDA and Alliance Leadership Conferences. At the 2019 HSLDA National Homeschool Leadership Conference, Anne received the Chris Klicka Award for her steadfast courage, dedication, and commitment to homeschooling. Anne and Jeff delight in their soon-to-be 16 grandchildren while living the HGTV dream remodeling homes in Williamsburg.

Getting Dads Involved:
Your Family Depends On It!

Join us in this workshop with a seasoned homeschool dad and discover practical ways to connect dads in their homeschool journey. Craig has helped many dads find the confidence they may lack and understand what role they play within their families. Craig will give practical tips, encourage dads, and offer wives specific takeaways to help encourage their husbands to come along on the journey of their lives. Homeschooling is a journey for the whole family…including dad!

Craig Konicki is passionate about mentoring and discipling homeschooling dads to come alongside their wives and lead their families in their homeschool journey. He is an associate creative director at Capital One and has 25 years of advertising and marketing experience supporting brand identities for a range of clients from Fortune 500 to not-for-profit, from health care to higher education. He is the recipient of eight Creative Excellence Awards and two Telly awards, including a grand prize. Craig is married to his best friend of 25 years, Stephanie, and is a father to three children, ages 22, 21, and 17. Two of them are starting their adult lives, having proven that you CAN—and will—reach the finish line!

Homeschooling:
Can I REALLY Do It All?

Have you ever wondered, “How do other moms do it?” We’ve all had moments in our homeschool days where we feel like we can’t keep up with all the demands of school, home, marriage, and just being a mom—let alone do any of them well. It is possible! Join me as we develop the tools needed to make you feel empowered in the journey God has called you to.

Stephanie Konicki is a wife and mother who serves as the director of Homeschool Family Connection, a homeschooling ministry in Richmond, Virginia. She homeschooled her three children, now ages 22, 21, and 17. She and her husband, Craig, have been married 25 years and absolutely LOVE this time in life. She loves the Lord with all her heart, soul, and mind, and prays that her passion for HIS desires will overflow into her children. Stephanie’s heartbeat is to bring opportunities to the homeschooling family that will enrich and strengthen their homeschool journey. During her session, she will bring joy, laughter, and key benefits to encourage you along the way.
