Information Collection and Use
We track site traffic and usage and create reports based on the server’s log files. The reports DO NOT contain information about particular individuals or personal information of any kind. Some of the things we track include the number of visitors to a page, downloaded documents, time and length of visit, browser and referrer of the visitor, most-visited pages, and most-used paths through the sites.
We note which registered users have logged into our customer center. This information may be used to determine the potential interests of such users.
Because we do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children, our site is fully compliant with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”).
Third-Party Ads and Information
HEAV is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com. This means that HEAV receives a commission on items purchased through our Amazon links. Transcript and UCS Service
In order to provide transcript and Used Curriculum Sale services online, data is stored in a secured online database. HEAV uses reasonable security measures to protect the confidentiality of all information.
Communications From the Site
If a user wishes to subscribe to our mailing list, we ask for contact information such as name and e-mail address. While we cannot prevent users from signing up other individuals to receive the newsletter, out of respect for our users’ privacy, we provide a way to opt-out of these communications. Please see the “Choice” and “Opt-Out” sections.
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order, or other legal process served on our website.
We DO NOT sell, rent, give away, or lend your information to be used by anyone other than HEAV and entities acting on behalf of HEAV.
Users who no longer wish to receive our e-mails may opt-out of receiving these communications by clicking on the “Click here to unsubscribe” link that appears in each e-mail.
This website contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we, Home Educators Association of Virginia, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by HEAV.
This website takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, their information is protected both online and off-line.

Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information
