Community. Fellowship. Shared values.

Homeschooling mom, what is your greatest need right now? A moment of peace? Genuine encouragement? A good laugh? Or maybe a chance to connect with someone on your path.
Please join us on October 13-14, 2017 for “MomLife! Encouragement & Freedom,” a retreat for homeschooling moms, which will be held at the beautiful Sheraton Oceanfront Hotel in Virginia Beach.
Encouragement for the Overwhelmed and Exhausted Mom
This is a conference for YOU—a real mom. The mom who is sleep-deprived, under-nourished (physically and spiritually), and over-worked. The one who feels that “just one more” thing on her to-do list is going to send her right over the edge.
NEW! Compulsive Comparing Disorder
Being a mom is hard. Being a homeschooling mom is even harder! And in the midst of all the teaching and challenges, a homeschool mom’s greatest enemy is “compulsive comparing disorder” Have you heard of it? Dr. Jenn Murff will share an empowering message about this stealer of joy. With the rise of social media, moms today are striving more than ever to keep up appearances. While it’s natural to want to look good, compulsive comparing disorder can steal our joy. We all know the narrative that no one is perfect—and we don’t have to be. Do we really believe that? Can we live it out for our families—and for ourselves?
Are You Enough? Encouragement for the Overwhelmed and Exhausted Mom
Telling her story from the book she wrote, Roxanne Parks uses humor and personal stories to lighten the load and bring hope in the journey.
Oh, Wait! There Is a Man Living in My House: The Marriage Priority
Are you so caught up in rearing your children that you forget to take time for your marriage? Do you sometimes feel like you just aren’t on the same page? Roxanne shares great insights that will help restore the priority of your marriage and help deepen your lifelong commitment.
Not Working Out the Way You Planned?
We all wrestle with moments of anxiety over a myriad of things. Scripture tells us to “be anxious for nothing.” This is a war over the flesh and the spirit. Roxanne shares stories of truths that help us to trust God and walk in the peace that only He can provide. She will share about four areas–marriage, teen challenges, parenting and homeschooling–where her story was very different than her vision, but ended up being more than she could ever have hoped or imagined!
The Secret Sauce
Connecting with all this is great! Now let’s put it into practice. You’ve gained insight, inspiration, and hope–and now Roxanne will leave you with the practical how-tos to put the lessons you’ve learned
Cancellations: Cancellations are permitted until September 13, 2017, minus a $20 cancellation fee. After this date, if you find you are unable to come, you may transfer your registration to another person.
Dr. Jenn Murff’s passion is to prepare future leaders today, both in the home and professionally. Jenn began her homeschooling journey five years ago while a doctoral student. Along her academic journey, she began looking at the emerging leaders of today and the families they will produce tomorrow and found that for society to prosper, we need strong marriages, healthy families, and thriving faith communities. This passion has brought Dr. Murff to her current roles as founder and president of Future Leader Lab, a leadership and career development program for homeschooled students, and president of Millennials for Marriage, a marriage advocacy and education organization. She is also an adjunct professor in Regent University’s doctorate of strategic leadership program. Dr. Murff, her husband, and their four daughters live in Winchester.
Special Guest Speaker
Roxanne Parks, author of Encouragement for the Overwhelmed and Exhausted Homeschool Mom, is a life-long cheerleader whose greatest joy is to build and encourage others to live out God’s purposes. Years ago, as she served in leadership of a large homeschool co-op when homeschooling her four now-grown children, God planted a seed in her heart to start a retreat to encourage mothers. Today, she is CEO (Chief Encouragement Officer) and founder of Winter Summit Ministries, Inc. , now in its tenth year of hosting annual events to encourage women.
Roxanne graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. She was an OU cheerleader and received her advanced certificate in Christian Life Coaching from the AACC. Starting in 2017, she is planning to host “Intensive Weekends” that will offer Life Coaching to those women hungry for MORE! Contact her to speak life into your group, organization or women’s retreat.

Though the rewards are great, everyone knows that being a mom is hard. We know that being a home-educating mom carries even greater rewards—and even greater challenges. It was out of a desire to minister to the special calling and needs of you—a mom of a homeschooling family—that MomLife! was born.
Our heart’s desire is that when you leave MomLife, you’ll feel that you’ve been in the presence of God, that you’ve been hand in hand with other moms walking alongside you, and that you’ve loved one another through the sharing and fellowship. As relationships are developed and strengthened, there will be shoulders to cry on and high fives to celebrate over the years and stages of your MomLife.
At our inaugural retreat in 2016, we loved creating the kind of weekend *we* need as homeschool moms. Peaceful. Relaxed and slow-paced. Breath-taking ocean views and gifts to make you feel pampered and loved. And a beloved and nourishing speaker.
Overwhelmingly, the request from these moms was “do it again!”
Here is what they had to say:
“I loved spending time with my girlfriends and being able to just breathe and not worry about the day to day tasks at home.”
“The gifts were so thoughtful and the little touches so nice! The testimonies and encouragement were just what I needed…Being at the beach was perfect! So beautiful and inspiring–great places to eat and hang out! Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend!”
“The lovely sound of women’s voices raised to our Lord. A special time of fellowship at the luncheon. Getting to know the ladies at our table. Each personal testimony was unique, personal, and relatable. We chose to lengthen our stay by a day away to rest and not be committed to any schedule…”
“I loved so much about it….the location was so relaxing, the speaker was wonderful, I really liked hearing the different testimony times and the gifts were well thought out…they will be a cherished memory of my time there.”
Enjoy these pictures from last year’s retreat!
