Entering the High School Zone ~ Ruth Tennis E-11 A-C

Does homeschooling in high school strike fear in your heart? Are you in the trenches and looking for direction? This workshop provides principles to wisely navigate high school. We’ll also overview record keeping, graduation requirements, apprenticeships, and PSAT/SAT/ACT testing while examining some options available to help your students reach their final destination. We’ll have a Q & A to get your questions answered!

2p.m. – 3 p.m.

Homeschooling Teens ~ Debra Bell E-11 A-C

This session comes from the perspective of a mom who raised four teens and is a long-time, high school-level teacher (and evaluator of numerous high school homeschool programs). The high school years are your child’s resume for the future. Here’s how to maximize his time, prepare him for a changing job market, get doors to open, and facilitate non-traditional learning experiences.

Tried and True: High School Transcripts ~ Angela Palomo E-11 A-C

If you freeze or break out in a cold sweat at the thought of assembling your child’s transcript, procrastinate no more. Whether you’ve kept impeccable records or are scrambling to cobble something together at the last minute, learn how your student’s homeschool education translates into a viable record of accomplishment that paves the way for scholarships, college acceptance, military entrance, and vocational opportunities. It’s time to turn this parent assignment in. You can do this!


Ruth Tennis

Ruth Tennis home-educated four children for 16 years from kindergarten to graduation. Her favorite homeschool subjects were science and history, and her preferred teaching methods included multi-learning style activities, developing inquisitiveness and critical thinking, and lots of great literature. Ruth has undergraduate degrees in English and communication and a master’s degree in English from Truman University, MO. She believes parents are essential in helping children develop a love of learning, effective communication skills, and a heart for God and people. A consultant for Rainbow Resource Center since 2015, Ruth loves helping families meet their homeschool needs.

Debra Bell

Debra Bell is the best-selling author of the award-winning Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling. Currently she is completing Writers in Residence and Readers in Residence—a multi-volume languages arts curriculum for Apologia Educational Ministries. She is also executive director of Debra Bell’s Aim Academy, which provides online college prep and AP® courses for homeschoolers. She has been a keynote or featured speaker at numerous venues for more than twenty years. Debra holds a bachelor of science in communications education and a master’s degree in English, as well as a Ph.D. in educational psychology at Temple University.
