Middle School Writing Clinic

The Fundamentals of Writing Fiction

Chuck Black, popular author and entrepreneur, heads up an interactive, two-part session designed to inspire young writers to hone their skills by practicing two of the five fundamentals of writing fiction. The first half of the session is instructional, showing students how to develop a consistent point of view and develop character. The second half will be dedicated to applying those skills during a writing session with one-on-one instruction as needed.

Thursday

Choose one of three tracks for beginners, high schoolers, or parents of special needs—or invest in some couple time in the Vertical Marriage while the kids attend one of the special, optional add-on sessions just for them.

Friday

The day kicks off with the morning keynote at 8:30 a.m. After the evening keynote ends at 6 p.m., do some more shopping in the Exhibit Hall or enjoy a leisurely dinner at a local restaurant, and then come out Friday Family Night!

Saturday

Enjoy a full day of workshops with frequent breaks to shop in the Exhibit Hall. Filled with the very best in educational materials from around the country, this is the perfect place to peruse books, touch the materials--and often, talk with the actual writer!
