It’s Made of Armor!
Ages: 12-17
The It’s Made of Armor session provides students with a concentrated study of how important armor and track vehicles were to the war effort during World War II. Students will use their critical thinking skills to hypothesis, test, and compare the function and features of track vehicles using the Museum’s own German Kettenkrad machine. Students will also use their artistic skills to develop the perfect camouflage and their engineering skills to develop “armor” to protect cargo from a long drop.

How to Train your Dinosaur! Ages 5-8 Dinosaurs and Pterosaurs become the focus of this session that allows students to experience the world of prehistoric life. Students will delve into answering questions in this session about how dinosaurs fly and if dinosaurs are still alive. Students learn about scales, wings, teeth, claws, and camouflage as they develop their own dinosaurs to take home. Using gliders students will also venture to the Dino Park and engage in hands-on learning about the forces that create flight.Additional Details for the Homeschool Day:
- Ages 11-15
- Please bring a bagged lunch. Water will be provided.
- Parents drop off students between 9:30 and 10 a.m. for class to start at 10 a.m. Parents will pick up at 2 p.m.
- Before and after care is provided with an additional cost.
