#HomeschoolStrong. #Giving Tuesday.

Thanksgiving. Black Friday. Cyber Monday. #GivingTuesday!

“We didn’t plan to homeschool… and when we started, I never thought we would still be homeschooling now, years later, with kids in high school and middle school. But I know I couldn’t have done it without the support and encouragement of the Home Educators Association of Virginia. They have kept me going, year after year, and encouraged me on my toughest days. I am so grateful because this time with my children, seeing them grow and learn, has been worth every moment, even the hard ones.”

Did you know your prayers and partnership are vital to supporting homeschool families and protecting homeschoolers’ rights. HEAV is dedicated to working hard for you and your family. It is a blessing to come alongside parents across the Commonwealth and support their homeschooling endeavors.

No one does this alone! We are so grateful for you and your support. We couldn’t do what we do without you!

Giving Tuesday HEAV

Do you cherish your Virginia homeschool freedoms? Here’s a chance to make a difference on #GivingTuesday, November 30. Now, with the loss of convention and event income the past two years, #Giving Tuesday is critical to fulfilling our mission.

Will you help?

Your gift on #GivingTuesday makes a difference for HEAV!

  • When you and other parents call our office with a question or concern, phone counselors are on hand to answer and provide assistance. In our active Facebook group, now with more than 18,400 members, consultants respond with helpful and accurate information to the many questions posted every day.
  • When a school board or superintendent imposes restrictions or asks for information not required by law, it can impact ALL homeschool families. Your gift helps HEAV take action and follow up on behalf of these families to protect our homeschool rights.
  • When the General Assembly convenes in Richmond, HEAV’s Yvonne Bunn and her team research the proposed legislation to evaluate its impact on Virginia’s homeschool law. Our homeschool freedoms were hard-won. With your help, we can preserve those freedoms for generations to come.
  • And on days when a mom like the one above shares she is struggling, she can turn to HEAV and its members for support and encouragement. Your gift helps our organization cultivate much-needed community and connection among homeschool families through local support groups and co-ops, Homeschool Days, field trips, and Facebook groups.

How do I give to HEAV?

Why Support HEAV?
HEAV is there for you–and for thousands of parents like you anytime your rights are threatened or you need encouragement or inspiration…

In their own words…
“HEAV is my voice in the legislature! Anytime there is a threat to homeschooling or a concerning bill, HEAV alerts me and keeps me up to date.”

“We are SO blessed to live in the state of Virginia and have HEAV! Many times during the conference, I actually welled up with tears…thinking of how we are reaping the rewards of DECADES of labor on the part of many dedicated parents. There is far more going on behind the scenes than we ever realize. HEAV is a TREMENDOUS blessing, and we do not take it for granted.” ~ Mary

Watch for more testimonies like these all day long on November 30!
