Free Cognitive Testing for HEAV Families

Discover Your Child’s Strengths!

Thanks to a grant from the Gibson Institute of Cognitive Research, LearningRx Charlottesville is able to provide FREE cognitive skills assessments to a limited number of Virginia students—and HEAV is again selected to be one of the beneficiaries!
(The test normally costs $97.)

The digital Gibson Test of Cognitive Skills takes only 45 minutes to complete and can be taken from a laptop or tablet. It evaluates your child’s cognitive strengths and weaknesses.

These are essentially the skills that make up your child’s IQ; ability to pay attention; and capacity to learn, think, read and perform in school, on the sports field, AND in life.

The test is normed and validated, supported in peer-reviewed literature and has been administered by educators, psychologists, neurologist, audiologists, speech & language professionals, and brain training professionals around the world.

The SIGN-UP DEADLINE is Wednesday, March 3.

  1. Don’t call it a “test.” Just let your child know that they will be playing some memory games and puzzles and to do their best.
  2. Take the test at a time and place where they are not interrupted or distracted, and more likely to be at their best.

Review Results

On Monday, March 22nd, parents will receive their child/children’s comprehensive skills report via email, as well as a link to a recently recorded, 45-minute webinar for HEAV families entitled, Gibson Test of Cognitive Skills: Discover the “Why” Behind Your Child’s Learning Struggles.

For anyone who watched the webinar and is interested in asking questions about their child/children’s test results, the skills measured, and how they can be improved, LearningRx will host two LIVE “Ask Us Anything” forums for parents via Zoom on Wednesday, March 25, at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
