The wonders of nature … the excitement of discovery … the satisfaction of accomplishment. Enjoy a wide range of the museum’s education resources, including a line-up of grade-targeted natural science classrooms, environmental science labs, and space science planetarium programs.

The Virginia Living Museum offers homeschool students grades Pre-K through 12 a day of fun and engaging programs that highlight important natural and environmental science concepts. All programs are curriculum and grade-level targeted and taught by the museum’s professional educators. All programs include a self-guided visit of museum exhibits and are offered at a discount to homeschool families.

Programs

Science Classes and Planetarium Programs
45 minutes
$12.50/child/program ($10.50 for museum members) 45 minute programs

Environmental Lab
90 minutes
$14.50/child/program; $12.50 for museum members)

Curatorial (Behind the Scenes) Tour
$20/ person ($12 for museum members)
Restrictions specifically for the Behind the Scenes Tour: No strollers. Limited wheelchair access. Please wear flat shoes. Ages 7 and up.

All programs include admission into the museum. Program descriptions can be found on the VLM website.

Cost:

$18/adults; $10/student, ages 3-18. Ages 2 and under free. Self-guided tour ONLY is $18/adult; $10/child, ages 3-18. Ages 2 and under are free. VLM members are free. See program schedule below. Parents may accompany their child into a program after paying admission.

Registration:

Registration opens on February 3, 2020. Register online or call the reservations office at 757-595-9135, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please register everyone who plans to attend.

Directions: From I-64 Exit 258A Newport News, go two miles and turn left at the traffic light opposite the fire station.. It is about 30 minutes from Williamsburg and Norfolk.
