1. CHESS Homeschool Classes Expo – Manassas – February 28

Manassas Baptist Church ROCK Building

Thursday, February 28, 2019, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cost: This is a free community event.

CHESS is a homeschool support group which offers classes in Manassas for grades 7 through 12. Over 50 core and elective courses are available to help simplify your schedule.

At the Expo, you can hear the teachers present why they are passionate about the subjects they teach, interact with teachers to find out which classes are right for you, find out what you need to know about CHESS before you register, and get tips on how to register through our online process.

Both parents and students in grades 7-12 are welcome to attend. Younger siblings can come too, but no child care will be provided.

2. Virginia Homeschool Prom – Charlottesville – April 6

Monticello High School
Charlottesville, Virginia

Saturday, April 6, 2019, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Cost: $50/student, ages 14 to 19.

The Virginia Homeschool Prom committee invites homeschoolers and their guests to a Masquerade Ball.

To purchase tickets, submit payment via Paypal to virginiahomeschoolprom@gmail.com. Include student’s name, age, and parent contact number in comment section, as well as if the student is a graduating senior.

Homeschooled students may invite a non-homeschooled student as a guest. All attendees must agree to abide by the dress code and code of conduct. Suits or tuxedos and modest formal wear is required.

The theme for 2019 is Masquerade Ball. Students are welcome to bring appropriate masquerade-style masks to wear. No Halloween masks, clown masks, political masks, etc will be allowed.

3. Spring Day Camps at Henricus Historical Park – Chester – Various Dates – First Registration Deadline Is March 22

Henricus Historical Park
Chester, Virginia

Registration is now open for spring day camps at Henricus Historical Park. Camps will be held on multiple dates from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are open to students ages eight through twelve. Cost: $40/child, single day; $36/child per day, multiple days. Pre-registration is required; early registration is recommended.

Daily themes include “Archaeology,” “Science in the 17th Century,” “Sir Thomas Dale’s Colony” and more.
