Saturday, February 9, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost: $15/person. Pre-registration is required; space is limited. Meet at the parks maintenance parking lot; tour transportation is provided. Participants should bring snacks and drinks and wear comfortable walking shoes.
Learn about the impact of the Bermuda Hundred Campaign in 1864 by visiting some of the county’s Civil War sites. Discover why this campaign was overshadowed by military engagements elsewhere. Tour includes stops at Dutch Gap, Battery Dantzler, Point of Rocks, and Drewry’s Bluff.

Program runs Mondays and Wednesdays, January 28 through May 11, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Cost: $150/student (installment payments available). An option for one session per week is available. Final date to register and join the program is Monday, March 4, 2019.
Travel down the rabbit hole and join Alice in her madcap adventures. Hampton Arts Education presents its spring 2019 Homeschool Program. Participants will experience instruction in acting, dance, voice, set design and construction, and costume design and construction. The final show performances are scheduled for May 10 and 11.

Wednesday, May 15, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Cost: $50/student, ages seven to eighteen; $30/adult. Cost includes student matinee, playhouse tour, lunch, and student workshops. Registration deadline is May 10.
Students will experience an immersive, interactive view into the world of Shakespeare at the Blackfriars Playhouse, the world’s only re-creation of Shakespeare’s indoor theatre. Following the student matinee production of The Comedy of Errors, students will get a behind-the-scenes look at the world of the American Shakespeare Center through a guided playhouse tour, “Textual Variance” workshop, and “Costume” workshop.

CT Chimney Repair of Connecticut is offering a $500 scholarship to students who are considering a career in construction, plumbing, carpentry, or other skilled trades. Applicants should write an essay focusing on their career goals and publish their essay as a blog post on their personal website or as a student post on their school’s website. This essay can be focused on what inspired them to pursue a career in their target field, a story about a past project, or any other hands-on experience.
This is an ongoing yearly scholarship. The deadline is December 1st of every year. The best-written blog post will be determined and the winner named by January 1st of each year.
