Middle School Writing Clinic

Don’t Swallow the Pizza Whole! (a piece-by-piece approach to writing) with Matthew Stephens of Essentials in Writing

Through Matthew’s comical, highly interactive personality and logical, sensible approach to writing, students will learn that writing doesn’t have to be painful. Rather, writing can be easy. Writing can be doable. Writing can be fun? Well, if not fun, at least…done!

In this session, students will learn the basic structure of compositions and how it applies to all writing. Students will learn the logical, step-by-step approach to any composition as well. Following this basic overview, Stephens will take students through the writing process, building from a simple paragraph to an essay, modeling each composition in a step-by-step approach.

Matthew taught middle school writing for several years and his love for middle school students is evident.

This event may be bundled with the science dissection lab at a reduced rate.
