1. Henricus Homeschool Day – Chester – Register by September 17

Thursday, September 20, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration by September 17 is required. Cost: $18/student (ages four to fourteen); $13/accompanying adult; Henricus Patrons $13 for student; free for accompanying adult.

Experience a homeschool education program designed to help meet curriculum goals in a fun, interactive environment at a living history museum. Students will work with our re-created Colonial City and the Powhatan Indian site to see what kind of education children received to help them live in their worlds of 400 years ago. Students will be divided by age level to work on age-appropriate activities and curriculum.

2. Hampton Roads Christian College Fair – Norfolk – October 4

Thursday, October 4, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Cost: This is a free event. Students can register for a barcode scan to save time at the event.

Students and parents will have the opportunity to meet admissions representatives from over 20 accredited Christian colleges and universities. A College Athletics Workshop will be held at 9:30 a.m. and a Financial Aid Workshop at 10 a.m.

3. Joshua’s Hands Fall Festival – Waterford – October 6

Guthrie Farm
Waterford, Virginia

Saturday, October 6, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a free, family event held by Joshua’s Hands, a non-profit organization dedicated to community education and service. The event will include live entertainment, hayrides, children’s crafts, a petting farm, obstacle course, carnival-style games, and more. An auction will be held at 2 p.m. to support the work of Joshua’s Hands. Volunteer opportunities are also available.
