Q. How do homeschoolers enroll in the 2019 National Spelling Bee?
A. Homeschool support groups or co-ops can enroll in the Scripps National Spelling Bee just like other students. Early registration is August 22 through October 15 with a discounted fee of $110 per individual homeschool family or $160 per group. Regular registration ends December 16, 2018, with a fee of $185 per individual homeschool family or $230 per group.
After registration, your group will receive everything it needs to administer the spelling bee program: study words, rules, pronouncer guides, and certificates for participation in the bee.
If you live in an area with no homeschool association, group, or co-op, you can enroll in the Scripps National Spelling Bee program as a family. On the Scripps website, select the Enroll button in the upper-right corner of the home page. During step two of the enrollment process, select “Click here to request the addition of your school link” and then choose “Home School (Family) as your school type.
