A traveling exhibit from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts–”The African American Mosaic”–will be on display in the visitor’s center from March 3-23. The exhibit includes lessons which look at how the integration of art history, design history, and social history reveal the history of a culture or a community.
Menokin was the home of Francis Lightfoot Lee, a Signer of the Declaration of Independence. In 1971 it was designated a National Historic Landmark for this significance.
