1. Chesterfield County Annual Veterans Day Ceremony – Chesterfield – November 11

Historic Courthouse Green
Chesterfield, Virginia

Saturday, November 11, 2017, beginning at 2 p.m. Cost: This is a free community event.

Join The Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia (CHSV) to honor those who have served us. The ceremony is free and members of the public are encouraged to participate in this annual event. Representatives of Veterans organizations throughout Chesterfield and surrounding counties have been invited to lay wreaths along the Veterans Memorial wall in front of the historic courthouse. Music will be performed by the Thomas Dale High School band and the L.C. Bird High School chorus.

Commander Heather H. Quilenderino, USN, Operations Officer, Fleet Weather Center, Norfolk, Virginia will be the guest speaker of the event.

2. Points of View Community Engagement Program – North Chesterfield – November 16

North Chesterfield, Virginia

Thursday, November 16, 2017, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Cost: This is a free community event.

The Chesterfield County Public Library will host Points of View (POV), a community engagement program on education. The program is the second in a series of community conversations that offers residents the opportunity to dialogue about current issues. WRIC-TV anchor Juan Conde will facilitate the discussion on how societal issues are challenging students.

3. Chesterfield Library Children’s Activities – Chesterfield County – Ongoing

Chesterfield Library is offering a variety of events, activities, and classes for students ages five and older. Registration is required and will remain open until all available slots are filled, although most classes fill up quickly. Activities include author visits, acoustic concerts, storytimes, bicycle maintenance, preschool science labs, Minecraft art, rocketry, chess clubs, and more.
