HEAV’S Virginia Homeschool Update

September 18, 2013

ABOVE THE FOLD

~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~

IMPORTANT NOTICE

The HEAV office will be closed for continuing education on Monday, September 23, and Wednesday, September 25. The office staff will answer e-mails and phone messages as quickly as possible the remainder of the week.

Your phone calls are urgently needed! Wunderlichs

Tomorrow (September 19), homeschoolers Dirk and Petra Wunderlich will ask a judge to return their four children, who were forcibly removed from their home three weeks ago for the sole reason that the Wunderlichs were homeschooling.

Please call or email the German embassy and consulates now! If you’ve already contacted them–that’s okay, please do it again. It extremely important that the German authorities know the Wunderlichs are not alone in this fight.

4) Parting Thought – We Apologize Ahead of Time

Why can’t clown noses be 12 inches long?

Because then they would be a foot.

Why did the clown eat a dollar bill?

It was her lunch money.

Why was the clown holding a mirror in front of her face with her eyes closed?

She wanted to see what she looked like when she was sleeping.

Why did the clown wear loud socks?

So his feet wouldn’t fall asleep.

Why did the lion eat the tightrope walker?

He wanted a well-balanced meal!

What happened to the kid who ran away with the circus?

The police made him bring it back.

Nota bene: If you can stand it, tell these to your kids–they’ll love ‘em. They will also love your old elephant jokes! Get even with the kids. Watch them roll their eyes and groan!

5) Worth Repeating

“We cannot but believe that He who made the world still governs it.”

- Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865), sixteenth President of the United States, upon observing the Battle of Antietam, expressed his enduring faith in God’s continuing control.

6) Verse of the Week

I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
