Homeschool Success Seminar High School at Home: Path to Success! Tuesday, October 9, 2012 - Midlothian FREE! Teaching high school at home can seem like a daunting task–but the benefits of homeschooling during the high school years far outweigh the challenges! Do you wonder what subjects to include during the high school years? How to teach higher level courses like chemistry labs or calculus? How to develop a transcript, assign credits, and compute a GPA?!? Are you ready for AP courses, PSATs, SATs, and ACTs? And what about sports and extracurricular activities? Yes, it’s a whole new world!
In this seminar, Yvonne Bunn, director of homeschool support for Home Educators Association of Virginia, will cover these topics and more. Having graduated three homeschooled high schoolers and dealt regularly with college admissions officers through her work with HEAV, Yvonne will clarify important high school questions and share practical ways to implement an effective high school program. Whether your student plans to go to college, join the military, or enter the workforce, this seminar will help you develop a well-planned high school course of study. You’ll learn where to get help, how to schedule important testing, and how to develop an acceptable transcript. You’ll leave this seminar with confidence to move forward and tools to develop a high school plan that will work for your student.

~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ARTICLES & INFORMATION Article of the Week Encouragement for Homeschool Moms – Patti Love Johnson A homeschool mom describes how her “perfect” homeschool eventually crumbled and how she learned to rely not on her own strength and good intentions, but on God’s grace and provision to homeschool. In a breakthrough moment, the author says she realized that, “we did not bring my children home to ‘school them.’ Rather, my loving heavenly Father had brought our whole family together so that He could teach us all.“
Homeschool Q&A
