| HEAV’S Virginia Homeschool Update
October 17, 2012 |
|
Only One Day Left! If you haven’t registered for the HEAV Leadership Conference yet, here is your chance. Registration has been extended until noon tomorrow (Thursday, October 18, 2012).
Wondering if you should attend again? If you are a leader who attended last year, you know the blessings and benefits of this special time. There will be many of the same networking and sharing opportunities, but this year’s conference has a very different focus. Doug Bartsch will share information from the Ministry Institute that will help leaders understand the important difference between “doing” the support group work and “leading” the support group. His presentation will also help leaders understand that team building–not working alone–is the biblical model, and he’ll explain how to make it happen. Doug will share the value of drawing out the God-given talents and gifts of others. This important information could totally change the way your support group functions! Read more here.
A Great Way to Say Thank You! If you’re not a leader yourself, you can help send your support group or co-op leader, e-mail list moderator, board member, newsletter editor, or coordinator to the conference. The training and support your leader(s) will receive is invaluable–they will come home renewed and refreshed with new tools to make your support group or co-op the best it can be! You can help them attend by paying all or part of their cost–just call the HEAV office at 804-278-9200 to get them registered.
Registration ends at noon tomorrow–so register now! |

All of us face storms in our lives in one form or another. She regularly claims Psalm 46:1-3, “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble…”
Homeschool Q&A Q. I attended the Homeschool Retreat in Williamsburg last year. Will the 2012 Leadership Conference cover the same topics? Should I send someone else this year or attend again?

~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ 4) Parting Thought – English Test Can you improve on any of these “tests” of creative English? This is just a start. First, jot down your own list of occupations or avocations (get students to help compile the list) and add to this fun exercise!
Bad electricians should be de-lighted (de-fused). Bad musicians should be de-noted (de-composed). Bad cowboys should be de-ranged (de-rided, de-bunked).
