Friday, February 8; Saturday, February 9; and Sunday, February 10, 2013 – Richmond For many, Swan Lake defines the very art of ballet: the lush Tchaikovsky score, the moonlit images of impossible grace, and the story of mystery and transformation. There will be just four performances of this time-honored classic. Use the HEAV code to get discount prices on tickets. Swan Lake is performed in the Carpenter Theatre at Richmond CenterStage, and will run approximately two and a half hours; dress comfortably.
The National Museum of the Civil War Soldier February 15 and February 22 – Petersburg Jump right into history as park educators deliver informative programs using fun, participatory learning techniques. In programs specifically designed for children in grades 3 through 12, students will participate in a military drill, study how free and enslaved Virginia families lived 150 years ago, and come face-to-face with the experiences of Civil War soldiers. You won’t want to miss this! An HEAV-Sponsored Event!
Thursday, February 28 – Norfolk Visit the newest exhibit, Our Mighty Seaport; enjoy the aquariums, weather exhibits, touch tanks, and Navy exhibits; and watch a movie in the large-screen theater! Educational programming–included in your discount admission ticket–is also offered throughout the day. And don’t forget to visit the last–and largest–Navy battleship, the U.S.S. Wisconsin! |
