4) Parting Thought – Kids in Church

Six-year-old Angie and her four-year-old brother Joel were sitting together in church. Joel giggled, sang, and talked out loud. Finally, his big sister had enough of his antics.

“You’re not supposed to talk out loud in church.”

“Why? Who’s going to stop me?” Joel asked.

Angie pointed to the back of the church and said, “See those two men standing by the door? They’re hushers.”

- As seen on the Internet.

5) Worth Repeating

“Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence.”

- Abigail Adams (1744-1818), wife of John Adams, who was the second president of the United States. In her husband’s many absences, she managed and worked their farm with the children along with homeschooling them. Ahead of her time in many ways, she (and John Adams) opposed slavery and favored an equal education for both boys and girls. Remember to study first ladies as you learn about our presidents!

6) Verse of the Week

Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.

- 1 Chronicles 29:12 (KJV)
