CRPD VOTE FAILS IN SENATE
Thank You for Your Phone Calls! Thank you to all those who called their senators this past week asking them to oppose the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)–and many thanks to ParentalRights.org and HSLDA for the work they’ve done! The U.S. Senate failed to reach the two-thirds majority needed to ratify the treaty, with 38 Senators voting no, and 61 voting yes. Read more here. |

~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ARTICLES & INFORMATION Article of the Week Homeschooling from the Heart: Living Christmas – Author Unknown Making snow angels right along with her kids, acting out the Christmas story at home, making gingerbread houses (and indulging in the candy trimmings too) are just some of this homeschool mom’s ideas for making a truly loving homeschool Christmas experience. Most of all, remember just how fleeting our time with those kids is.
Homeschool Q&A Q. We plan to move to Virginia soon, but want to travel a few weeks after we arrive. How soon should I submit my Notice of Intent to Provide Home Instruction? |

~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ 4) Parting Thought – Feed Your Soul Amid all the feasting and treats, don’t neglect to nourish your soul! How many days do you voluntarily go without food? Probably not many, but the majority of Christians go without daily spiritual food in the form of Bible reading and prayer.
Heartlight ministry offers several different Bible reading and prayer plans from which to choose. Internet searches will turn up many more. No matter what you choose, ask God to help keep you faithful in it! An accountability partner may also help your growth in prayer and devotions. Text or call each other with a couple of prayer requests and share a meaningful verse from that day’s reading. Which reminds me–are you also hiding God’s Word in your heart?
~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ 5) Worth Repeating
