Mommy and Me at the Museum
Fridays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., now through November 19. Cost: $3/participant; recommended for ages three through five; cost includes the class, supplies, and a snack. Register no later than the morning of the day before the event.
Each month will have a different theme with a different book and activity related to the theme each week. This program is designed to expose children to history in a fun and creative way, as well as provide an opportunity to create meaningful experiences that will promote life-long learning.
Playing in the Past
Thursdays from 11 a.m. to noon, July 12, 19, and 26. Cost: $7/student; designed for–but not strictly limited to–students in grades one through four; cost includes the class, supplies, and a snack. Register no later than the morning of the day before the event. Each week, children will learn about different artifacts used by historians, participate in fun and enriching activities, and create crafts to take home. The weekly classes will expose children to history in a fun and creative way and create a foundation for a love of history and learning.
July’s theme of artifacts will focus on a diverse range of historic remnants left behind and the processes involved in uncovering the objects including archaeology, architecture, historic toys and games, and immigration documents.
