WallBuilders and the Torch of Freedom Foundation sponsor the Patriot Academy, a five-day political training camp held each summer in Austin, Texas. Students experience the political process from the inside out as they file legislation, debate bills, campaign for office, and pass laws. In addition, students are trained in media skills, public speaking, leadership, today’s issues, and America’s heritage, all from a biblical worldview. Conservative leaders from all areas of the political field mentor students through the process, sharing their experience and wisdom. To our knowledge, Patriot Academy is the most realistic week-long conservative political training available to students today.

Through the ages, many ladies have come through the doors of Boykin’s Tavern wearing everything from hoop skirts and corsets to hats, high-collared shirts, and dresses with trains. Reminisce as you enjoy a leisurely afternoon of tea and snacks while ladies show off the fashions of different eras. The tavern is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is the only surviving structure associated with the Isle of Wight Courthouse of 1800. You’ll learn about the building’s architectural details, rare in rural Virginia, and its significant role in both the Revolutionary War and Civil War.
