One Computer Still NeededOne Computer Still Needed
Through the generosity of a donor, one of our two computer needs has been met! We're very excited and thankful! We're still in need of one more computer. If you have a computer in good working condition you would consider donating, it would greatly benefit our budgeting going into the new accounting year. The donation would be tax-deductible--and greatly appreciated!

The computer would be used either for Yvonne Bunn, HEAV's director of homeschool support and legislative affairs, whose computer is more than seven years old and failing fast, or for the back room of the HEAV office. The computer we have in the back room now is old, slow and prone to freezing, but needed for order processing and data entry.

If you have a computer you feel led to donate, please contact George Lansing, HEAV's executive director, at executivedirector@heav.org or 804-278-9200

Calls Needed to Reunite Homeschool FamilyCalls Needed to Reunite Homeschool Family
HSLDA recently sent out a request for families to contact the Swedish embassy on behalf of a homeschool family in Sweden "whose only child, 7-year-old Dominic Johansson, was seized by Swedish police from a plane just as the family was about to leave the country for a new life in India." Find more details and contact information for the embassy on HEAV's Virginia Homeschool Blog.

Voter Guides Now Available
The Family Foundation's voter guides are now available! These voter guides are non-partisan bulletin inserts comparing the positions of candidates on important issues such as life, marriage, parental rights, and religious liberty. The guides do not endorse or oppose any candidate or political party and are legal for distribution in churches. You can download them at www.tffaction.org.

The Family Foundation could use help getting these guides into the hands of churches and individuals. If you can help, please e-mail (preferred) Roger Pogge at roger@tffaction.org or call 804-343-0010 to have voter guides mailed to you for distribution at your church and other appropriate venues.

4) Parting Thought - Ponderings

If Carmen San Diego and Waldo ever get married, will their kids be completely invisible?

Why is it that during an icebreaker, when the whole room has to go around and say their name and where they are from, I get so incredibly nervous? I know my name, and I know where I'm from; this shouldn't be a problem.

Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection--again.

-Adapted from Grif.net. Written by Dr. Bob and readers.

5) Worth Repeating
"The times call for courage. The times call for hard work. But if the demands are high, it is because the stakes are even higher. They are nothing less than the future of human liberty, which means the future of civilization."

- Henry Hazlitt (1894-1993), economist and journalist for the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and Newsweek. Hazlitt authored Economics in One Lesson, was the founding vice-president of the Foundation for Economic Education, and was an early editor of the Freeman magazine.

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called...
