Above the Fold ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~
~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ Thank You for Your Prayers! Thank
you all for keeping the convention in your prayers over these past months--we felt the prayer covering more
than ever this year, and watched God work in
so many wonderful ways! Please continue to pray for the work of HEAV
and for each person who came to the convention. Your prayers make
a BIG difference!
~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ CONVENTION PHOTOS! Thanks to homeschool graduate Seth Fisher of Through My Lens Photography,
we have lots of wonderful photos of the convention to share with you!
We hope they'll bring back many pleasant memories--they certainly did
for us! View convention photos!
(Don't forget to mark your calendars for next year's convention on June 10, 11, and 12, 2010! And to help us plan, please take the 2009 convention survey. We really read every single comment and suggestion to see what we can do to improve and serve you better.)

Having Trouble Downloading an MP3? For
the first year ever, HEAV offered free MP3 downloads to people who
tried to attend a workshop but couldn't because it was full. We're
still ironing out the system, and apologize if you've experienced any
difficulty. If you have a "We're Sorry This Workshop Was Full!" card
and are having trouble, let us help you get your MP3! Just e-mail kloop@heav.org the information on your card and the name of the workshop you need to download. Please do not contact Best Christian Conferences.
~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~
Get
Relevant Encouragement and Help for Every Stage of Life--from Preschool
to High School to College and Beyond--All at Your Own Pace! A
convention MP3 allows you to soak in the convention all year long from
the comfort of your own living room. This year's MP3 is packed with
informational and motivational workshops by Voddie Baucham, Carol
Barnier, Wade Myers, Rick and Marilyn Boyer, Joel Salatin, Mike
Snavely, Dianne Craft, Inge Cannon, Steve Demme, Debbie Strayer, and
others! Containing more than 80 workshops, the MP3 will provide hours
of helpful encouragement to keep you motivated all year. Easy to Use - Even without an MP3 Player! The
convention MP3 comes in a case containing two CDs. You can plug these
CDs directly into an MP3-compatible DVD player or computer to listen,
or download the files to your MP3 player. The CDs also contain
instructions for burning audio CDs out of individual talks using iTunes
if you so choose. Listen while you exercise or iron, or grab a cup of
coffee, sit down, and enjoy!
Order your MP3 today! MP3s/CDs of individual workshops are also available. [Exhibitor workshops, the Transcript Boot Camp, and Lap Books(TM) Across the Curriculum were not recorded.]
~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~
Making the Most of Your Convention MP3 and Recordings Although
the Convention MP3s are packed with workshops, it's easy to find the
one you want! Simply download and print the "_TALK INDEX FILE.pdf"
(located on your MP3 CDs) for a guide to what workshop is where. If
you're unsure what workshop you want to listen to, try browsing the workshop descriptions on our website or, if you have one, in your convention program.
You can also download speaker handouts for some of the workshops. Many of these handouts contain valuable information you won't want to miss!

Lost Something at the Convention? We
found quite a few backpacks, shoes, clothes, and other miscellaneous
items and took them back to the office. If you are missing anything,
please send an e-mail to office@heav.org describing what is missing. Be sure to include a phone number where we can reach you.
~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ Homeschooling Around the World
A
recent report on home education in England by a British government
official makes the case that homeschooling should be extensively
regulated. The report recommends families be required to register
annually with local authorities, submit learning plans, and undergo
regular inspections. If they fail the inspections, homeschool parents
could be forced to send their children to school. Another part of the
report says the state should have the authority to choose the
curriculum. It appears the report will be accepted as policy. Read more
on the HSLDA website, in the WorldNetDaily article, and in the British
newspaper article. Please keep homeschoolers in England upheld in your
prayers!

~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ Resources from Voddie Baucham
Those
of you who were at convention hopefully got to hear Voddie Baucham's
truth-packed, challenging sessions. (If you missed them, be sure to get them on CD or download them on MP3--all his workshops had consistent off-the-scale positive ratings!) You may also wish to check out Voddie Baucham's website for some free materials, audios, and videos. Sermonaudio.com also has several sermons by Voddie available for free listening. Google Books offers previews to many of his books. Searching the web will turn up more resources.

~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ 4) Parting Thought - The Bible Poem
The Bible's Books are Sixty Six
The Spirit - their recorder;
Their stories - how they can transfix
So here they are - in order.
In GENESIS I will begin
With Adam, and with Eve
Who knew not any form of sin
'Til Satan did deceive.
Now EXODUS will tell us most Of Moses - Man of God, And how he led all Israel's host When many miles they trod.
To LEVITICUS you have to turn And read about the law; The sacrifices which did burn Unblemished - without flaw...
...MATTHEW, MARK, LUKE and JOHN All speak, with one accord Of Jesus - who is God's dear Son Our Saviour - Master - Lord.
- George Rigby, 1941. George Rigby wrote this amazing poem, which has a verse on each of the sixty-six verses of the Bible, while serving in Damascus, Syria, during World War II. George's
grandson put it on the Internet in hopes people would pass it on with a
link to the site. It reminds your editor of the poems in old primers
written to help students learn the alphabet; only this one is to learn
books of the Bible and their content--clever! Read the rest of the poem here.

5) Worth Repeating "Words become actions; actions become habits; habits become character; character becomes destiny. Think good thoughts."
- Author Unknown
~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ 6) Verse of the Week Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
- Philippians 4:9 (KJV)
