Location: Nationals Park, 1500 South Capitol Street S.E., Washington, DC 20003 (Nationals Park is located in Southeast Washington along the Anacostia River bounded by South Capitol Street to the west, N Street to the north, First Street to the east, and Potomac Avenue to the south.)

$6 and $11 seats (regularly $10 and $17). Note: Associated online convenience fees also apply; there is an additional charge for parking.

Special rates for homeschool families: $3/student and $5/adult if purchased in advance; $5/student and $7/adult if purchased at-the-door; free for children 5 and under.

Pre-registration deadline:
Monday, October 18, 2010. Tickets and wristbands can be picked up in the Visitor’s Center.

Come see how our frontier past has shaped life in the United States today! Watch living-history demonstrations and explore traditional rural buildings from England, Germany, Ireland, West Africa, and America; Old World exhibits showing the rural life and culture of early migrants to the American colonies; and American exhibits showing the life that these colonists and their descendents created here.

Homeschool Day at Mount VernonAn HEAV-Sponsored Event!

Location: Mount Vernon, VA (Historic Mount Vernon is located 16 miles south of Washington, D.C., and 8 miles south of Old Town, Alexandria, on the banks of the Potomac River.)
Date:
Friday, November 5, 2010, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: Special rates for homeschool families: $7 for homeschool students (age 6-18); $10 for adults; free for children 5 and under.

Mount Vernon invites homeschoolers to experience 18th-century plantation life during this special one-day event! At the George Washington: Pioneer Farmer site, watch costumed interpreters produce 18th-century goods, learn about George Washington’s innovative farming practices, visit a reconstructed slave cabin, play colonial games, and see animals. Elsewhere on the estate, tour Washington’s mansion, visit the state-of-the-art Museum and Education Center, and meet people from Washington’s world.
