LEADERSHIP LUNCHEON

To honor you for your service to the homeschool community, and to "further equip you to good works," HEAV is hosting a luncheon just for you on Friday, June 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.!

Debbie Strayer will be speaking on “Grace for Leadership.” The demands of leadership continue to change and grow as more and more families begin homeschooling. How can we survive and thrive as homeschoolers who lead? Tap into God’s supply of encouragement and grace! Come and receive both, as well as a few chuckles, as you are refreshed and your vision is renewed!

There will also be lots of time for fun, fellowship, and door prizes.

Register for the Support Group Leadership Luncheon, today!
Please call the office at 804-278-9200 to register for the luncheon. The registration coordinator will be sure we have your support group information and will register you for the luncheon.

Is Your Homeschool Group Ready for the Next Step? Becoming a 501c3 Tax-Exempt Organization ~ Carol Topp, CPA
Many homeschool organizations are asking, “Should we consider becoming a tax-exempt organization? What are the benefits? What are the costs? Do we need it? Is it worth it?” Becoming a formally recognized not-for-profit organization (known as “501c3” or being “tax exempt” according to the IRS) is a tough decision. Presenter Carol Topp (www.HomeschoolCPA.com), a homeschooling mother and CPA, has helped homeschool organizations obtain tax-exempt status. She will discuss the pros and cons of 501c3 status and offer tips, helpful resources, and checklists.

Session 6 - Saturday, June 13, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
How to Start and Manage a Homeschool Organization: Boards, Budgets, and Bylaws ~ Carol Topp, CPA
As the homeschooling movement grows, so do support groups and homeschool co-ops. This means more organization is needed to handle larger memberships, more money, and special programs. Many homeschool groups find themselves needing to formalize their groups with bylaws and boards of directors. Carol Topp, owner of HomeschoolCPA.com, will discuss boards, budgets, and bylaws in this helpful workshop for group leaders and board members.
