2.1 STEM Saturdays – Hampton – Beginning June 17

Virginia Air and Space Center

First and third Saturdays of each month, beginning June 17, 2017. Events begin at 10 a.m. Cost, general admission: $15/student, ages 3 to 18 years; $18.50/adult; $16.50/seniors; and $15.50 military/NASA. STEM Saturday activities are included in general admission.

Celebrate the beginning of summer by exploring the world of rockets and propulsion. Discover how far you can fling a water balloon and the secrets behind making a water rocket fly.

Join the Virginia Air & Space Center on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with activities designed to inspire, excite, and engage the imagination. Investigate robotics, physics, chemistry, and so much more with activities focused on the theme of the day. Every STEM Saturday has a unique STEM-centric theme!

2.2 Virginia Air and Space Center STEM Summer Camps – Hampton – Weekly, June 27-August 19

Mondays through Fridays, June 26-30; July 3-7; July 10-14; July 17-21; July 24-28; July 31-August 4; August 7-11; August 14-18, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost: Most weekly camps are $235/student/week for members and $250/student/week for non-members; some weeks may vary. Open to students grades K-8. Before and/or after care from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. is available for an additional cost. Lunch options are available for $35/week. Registration is required.

Campers will be immersed in NASA-themed camps focused on everything from growing plants in space, building your own roller-coaster and robots, to learning what it takes to survive in extreme environments both inside and outside Earth’s atmosphere.

2.3 Civil War Day Camps – New Market – July 10-14

Virginia Museum of the Civil War
New Market, Virginia

Monday, July 10 through Friday, July 14, 2017, from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost: $80/student (ages 7 through 10).

This Civil War Day Camp offers fun, hands-on, educational activities to help students understand what Civil War life was like for Confederate and Union soldiers, VMI cadets, and civilians on the home front. Campers will play the games they played, eat the food they ate, and drill like they did. Each day will focus on a different Civil War theme.
