2.1 Homeschooling Workshops – Lynchburg – April 21 & 22

Friday, April 21, 2017, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. These workshops are free events; a donation will be collected by event sponsor, Homeschool First. Refreshments will be provided.

Join special guest Yvonne Bunn from Home Educators Association of Virginia and fellow homeschool parents in these informative sessions.  

Friday evening’s workshop, “Homeschool 101,” is geared toward prospective homeschoolers, as well as current homeschoolers seeking some reassurance regarding the state homeschooling laws.

Saturday morning’s workshop, “Homeschooling Through High School,” will address parents of rising and current high schoolers who wish to continue their homeschool journey through graduation.

2.2 Young Musicians of Virginia 25th Anniversary Reunion Concert – Virginia Beach – May 25

Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 7 p.m. Cost: This is a free event.

Young Musicians of Virginia is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a free concert.

Former YMV students from the past 25 years are invited to sing or play along during the concert. Performers will need to contact the YMV office to register and get the music. Rehearsals will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, May 22 and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 25.

2.3 Young Musicians of Virginia Online Registration Is Now Open – Virginia Beach

Registration is now open for Young Musicians of Virginia classes for the 2017-2018 school year.

YMV offers choir, instrument classes, and music theory, as well as enrichment courses in arts, government and history, language arts, mathematics, and sciences. Monthly course fees vary from $30 to $80 per student.

2.4 Chesterfield Library Children’s Activities – Chesterfield County – Ongoing

Chesterfield Library is offering a variety of events, activities, and classes for students ages five and older. Registration is required and will remain open until all available slots are filled, although most classes fill up quickly. Activities include author visits, acoustic concerts, story times, bicycle maintenance, preschool science labs, Minecraft art, rocketry, chess clubs, and more.
