3.6 Music: Article – “How Does Music Stimulate Left and Right Brain Function? Why is this Important?”

Not only is music a way to praise God and express oneself, it appears to benefit students in other ways. Listening to good music has its own contributions to a person’s life and brain function. You don’t necessarily have to go to the piano teacher’s house anymore–they’re online! Additionally, many software and print alternatives have been developed. If you don’t play–or sing (think church choir)–learn with your child.

While you are on this website, note the other articles and resources. For example there’s a lesson on “bucket drumming” in the Primary/Elementary section of Resources in the banner. While it is a commercial product, it needs no instruments but teaches musical concepts and how to read music with buckets.
