Saturday, October 5, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free and open to the public; suitable for everyone! Bring friends and wear your jeans to this homeschool-friendly celebration.

The Joshua’s Hands Annual Fall Festival is here again with an old-fashioned spelling bee, entertainment, hay rides, three-legged races, live music, demonstrations, a petting farm, and so much more! The carnival-style games are always a hit and everyone wins prizes. Adults will particularly enjoy the auction at 2 p.m. Donated items will be sold to benefit the work of Joshua’s Hands. (Do you have anything special to donate?) Come share in the glory of the fall season.

2.2 Ride the Tide and Godspeed – Onancock – October 19-21

69 Market Street
Onancock, VA

Saturday, October 19, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, October 20, from noon to 5 p.m.; and Education Day for students only on Monday, October 21.There is no cost to tour the boat and see exhibits; some activities have a fee. Contact organizers for information.

Come see how Jamestown settlers arrived in Virginia, watch 17th-century artisans at work, and view 17th-century exhibits on archeology, herb usage, waterway usage, hand-dipped candles, limners, and more. Learn about the environment of the Eastern Shore on the Watershed Walk, enjoy various entertainments, children’s activities, and more. Monday features a scaled-back event and is only open to school groups; there will be slots for homeschool groups available.
