1.2 New Homeschool Basketball Team Forming – Northern Virginia – August 25

Homeschool varsity basketball tryouts are coming up for Ashburn, Lansdowne, Leesburg, Loudoun County, Woodbridge, and Manassas, Virginia; West Virginia; Washington, D.C.; and Maryland. Coach Tony Goodwin has an extensive background coaching kids from professional sporting families and kids who seek college and media exposure. His experience includes working with players who already have a high profile and with those who are starting from scratch.

The team (for boys ages 14 through 18) will be a great place for incoming freshman players to have an opportunity to play varsity basketball in their freshman year. The team also welcomes JV players and varsity homeschool basketball players looking for a new homeschool basketball team.

1.3 Fall Homeschool Rock Climbing Class – Midlothian – Register by August 30

Mondays and Fridays beginning Friday, September 20 through December 13, 2013 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. For ages four through adult. Cost: $150/month for one parent and two children; $25/month/each additional participant to be billed September 20, October 12, and November 12. A “parent-and-one-child” option is also available–please e-mail Nancy@peakexperiences.com to inquire about pricing. Additionally, any participant age seven or under is an additional $25/month. Monthly fee includes full gym membership with two hours of personalized instruction per week, the right to climb outside of class time, rock climbing gear during class hours, and a 10% discount in the shop.

Come join other homeschool families and learn the fun and challenging sport of indoor rock climbing! Rock climbing builds confidence, problem-solving skills, and strong families–including parents! This is a family class for both parents and children. Peak Experiences has developed an exciting new curriculum just for homeschoolers to earn Physical Education credit. Parents who prefer not to climb will still learn to belay their children.
