Classes meet from Wednesday, September 4, 2013, through May 14, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Cost: $50 registration fee/family/school year; classes have separate fees. Register by the morning of Monday, July 1.
The LIFE Homeschool Support Group in Gainesville offers classes one or two days a week with lectures, discussions, presentations, and labs. On other days of the week students work at home with parental help and management of their course work. Most classes are geared toward the junior and senior high school levels, but there are some classes for the elementary grades. Tests are administered and grades are given by the teachers for all core classes.

If you are new to HEAV and homeschooling, may we offer a big welcome to a life-long lifestyle of learning! In this, the first installment of seven (newsletters 312 through 318) in the Homeschool Foundations Series, the Teaching Home explores “The Decision to Homeschool.” Don’t miss the sidebar and other smaller sections with ideas for your summer. You’ll have fun as a family as you learn together! If you know someone who is considering that initial decision to homeschool, or have close friends or relatives who wonder why people homeschool, send them the link to this newsletter.
Has the “tyranny of the urgent” crowded out your sincere plans to read the Bible cover to cover this year? Have you made plans to spend specific time with the Lord of Lords, to seek His face, to hear and obey His counsel regarding next year’s plans?
Here is a 90-day Bible reading plan–really, it’s only about 30 minutes/day! The tracking sheet is easy to print and tuck away in your Bible. See if you can round up a disused notebook or half-used composition book so you can take notes as you listen carefully for His answers. Get an accountability partner if at all possible.
