Monday, May 20, 2013, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Free; bring a friend and be sure to spread the word! The talk is intended for parents of students in grade six and up. Please sign up on the Home Educators Recreation Enrichment (HERE) website by midnight on Sunday, May 19.
Home Educators Recreation Enrichment presents, “Home School to College: A Guide for Parents,” with Dr. Ellen Fithian, M.D., Ph.D. of Hampton Roads Educational Consulting, LLC. The talk will cover today’s complex and competitive world of college admissions. Homeschooled applicants face the usual challenges encountered by college-bound students, plus the unique burden of having to convince college admissions officers that they have had a rigorous education and are as socially well adjusted as traditionally schooled students. Read more about the workshop and the speaker on the website.
See the website for more information and to register, or contact Mrs. Doris Dawson at email@example.com or 757-224-6195.
