400 Courthouse Square
Sunday, March 10, 2013, from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Free and open to any high school or undergraduate student with an interest in the veterinary medical profession. Registration officially closes Wednesday, March 6, but is not essential (it does help planners).
This annual event features sessions related to the veterinary profession and how to prepare for vet school. The fair features an exhibit hall with many of the Association of American Veterinary Medical College’s member institutions on hand to answer your questions. Information sessions will cover practicing in an underserved community, careers in public health, applying to vet school, and more!
See the website for more information; register with or direct questions to email@example.com.
Deadline is March 30, 2013. Open to all school-aged children in Central Virginia. Submit a piece of original patriotic artwork that meets contest requirements.
The artwork must:
- Be patriotic and portray a positive image of the military and/or the USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia (USOHRCV).
- Measure a minimum of 8″x10″ and maximum of 12″x12.”
- Have the student’s age and signature in the bottom right corner of the artwork.
- Have the entrant’s name, age, and school clearly written on back of the artwork.
Then turn in the artwork to:
USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia; Attn: Patriotic Art Contest 2013 USO
1 Richard E. Bryd Terminal Drive, Box 92,
Richmond, VA 23250
You may also submit art in person at the USO Center in the Richmond International Airport or at Ft. Lee. Winners will be chosen by military men and women coming through USOHRCV Centers and will be notified through their schools by April 13, 2013. Last year’s winner had their art turned into wallpaper at the airport USO; other artwork was displayed in USO-related offices.
